Today we are going to get into a time capsule and travel back in to time to the 1990's with Revlon StreetWear. Hang on tight, it may be a bumpy ride!!!
I have a birthday party to go to Friday night and my outfit is a fun orange, and I wanted to commit the ultimate nail polish sin and go matchy matchy have an orange manicure as well. I decided on Revlon StreetWear Shocking, along with an accent nail.
The above picture is shown with 2 coats of Revlon Sweetwear Shocking topped with Essie Go to Good. The accent nails is two coats of Nail Pattern Boldness Seppuku (with a Frisbee).
The Revlon StreetWear polish is GORGEOUS in so many ways. If you look closely you can see the yellow shimmer it has in it which is very visible on the nail.
I picked this up in a swap a very long time ago. I am angry with myself that I waited this long to use it lol.
The formula is gorgeous. This was so very smooth and so easy to apply. It only takes two coats, which I love. I think it's all the glorious chemicals in the formula lol. Remember, this polish was created prior to the B3Free wave.
I also want to do an accent nail.
I decided on Nail Pattern Boldness Seppuku (with a Frisbee). It has the same orange and yellows in it as Shocking. These two are the perfect pair.
Once I put these to two together it was like a match made in heaven.
Thanks for visiting guys and let me know what you think. Do you guys like wearing orange polish, or is it a no no color for you?
LOVE this, i am a pink fan but am slowly beginning to appreciate oranges
ReplyDeleteVery nice orange. Love the glitters.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have a couple really old Revlon Street Wear polishes that still work as good as the day I bought them! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have added a prettier accent nail to this mani!
This is such an incredible orange!
ReplyDeleteomg! in love with this mani. that street wear is orange polish perfection.. off to scour ebay for it!
ReplyDeletePsst! FYI, Revlon Street Wear polish came out late in 1996 and was hard to find for the rest of that year. :) Definitely not a 1980s product, but a lot of fun nonetheless. I think it probably came out in response to Urban Decay and Hard Candy.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!!! My post should have said 90's not 80's, my Mom worked for Revlon in that time from and I was in High School, this this was truly a typo. I can't believe I never caught this. Thanks again!!!!
