Naild'it - Put a Ring on it...

Press Sample

I'm back, as promised :) Right about now I'm in New York and having a blast (hopefully - lol). It's Mother's Day and I'm with my MOM!!!! Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely Mother's out there today.  I myself do not have my own children, but my husband has three boys, so that makes me a Step Mom :)
I also have 2 cats and I clean up poop, throw up, feed them, bath them, break up fights, clean up after them. In my book that definitely qualifies me as a Mom too. My Husband always gets me something for Mother's Day from the cats lol.  This year we are apart, but we will celebrate when I get back home to Missouri!
On to the post.....today I want you guys to check out this AMAZING polish from Naild'it.  I will warn you ahead of time that I'm going to say I love this polish about 100 times in this post.
This is  clear base polish with Gold, Silver and Holo Glitters. My Mom deserves a gold Medal so this one is for her!
I LOVE THIS POLISH.

I really don't have anything like this in my collection. It's actually just two colors, gold and silver, but it's amazing. I LOVE THIS POLISH! This is 2 coats of OPI: My Boyfriend Scales Walls, with two dabbed on coats of Put a Ring On it (how cute is that name?)!
I think this polish would look amazing on ANY color. I see it over Pink, Red, Gold, Orange, Blue, Purple and Black. It would look amazing on any of these. I LOVE THIS POLISH.

I hope everyone has a happy Mother's Day!! Thanks for visiting as usual and I will back shortly!
You can purchase Naild'it polishes on LLorowe.com or The Naild'it Etsy Shop. Thanks for visiting and I will be back again soon!

O Christmas Tree - Candy Lacquer

Today I am wearing a super fun polish from Candy Lacquer. It's called O Christmas Tree..how perfect is that! Now don't look too close guys lol. I do A LOT of cooking on the day before Christmas Eve and my hands were in water and preparing food all day. I always wait til after I finish cooking to do my nails so it's when they look there worst :)

This is sooooooooo fun and festive. It really reminds me of a big ole Christmas tree. This is one coat of OPI Red with two dabbed coats of O Christmas Tree.

I did have to fish out the stars in this one and place them, but that is the same case with all star shaped glitter polishes no matter who makes them. The great part is you can leave out the star glitters if you don't like them.

I feel like I have bright Christmas lights on my fingers lol. Also, I can not stop singing the song in my head...
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Not only green when summer's here,
But also when 'tis cold and drear.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging!
It just keeps playing over and over in my head when I look down at my nails. How super awesome fun and festive.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Holiday. I also say a little prayer for those that are not so fortunate. I hope to be back tomorrow for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I make no promises. Similar to many of you Family will be a priority and I will post both days if I can. If I'm not back, please have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day!

Rockin around the Tree - Naild'it

I have to say this was probably the hardest manicure that I ever had to photograph. I wanted something really different, but my camera just didn't want to play too nice tonight.

This is two coats of OPI Jade is the New Black layered with one solid coat of Naild'it Rockin Around the Tree. You can find this at Naild'it's Etsy shop here. They are currently on vacation so I can not promise that this will still be offered after the Holiday. I then topped everything with Hard Candy Matte Top Coat. The polish lost it's JADE color and turned more green once I started layering it, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

It is really difficult to see in the photos, but once matted there is a gorgeous light green glitter that shines and stands out from all the darker green glitters. It is so pretty.

It came out exactly how I wanted it to.

If you have not yet tried using a matte top coat on a glitter, you are really missing out. The depth of the glitter once it is matted is amazing, and not to be missed.  If you look carefully at my pinky finger you can see the different color glitters that are hiding.  I didn't see all the amazing color shades of the glitter until I used a Matte coat.

Again, this was a really tough polish to capture, but I promise it is beautiful.  Hope you guys like this and hope anyone in the path of Draco stayed safe today. Here in Missouri we had wind gusts hitting close to 60mph. There was a white out blizzard here most of the day and the wind has been howling non stop. I'm hoping by morning it is all gone.

Thanks for visiting :)

(*this polish was sent to me for my honest review)

No Elfing Way

Evening everyone!

Tonight I have a super cool polish for you guys. This is No Elfing Way by Naild'it, and it is a LLarowe exclusive, meaning it can only be purchased at this LINK. As of tonight while I post this, the polish is still in stock and available.

This is three coats of my favorite green OPI nails polish, Greenwich Village, topped with 2 dabbed on coats of No Elfing Way.

This polish had CRAZY glitters of all shapes and colors. There is no taco glitters here. It's totally smooth with two coats of Seche Vite. This is like a serious glitter party on your fingers.

I'm a glitter junky and this one is right up my ally lol. The formula was really easy to use. I dabbed on two coats and I did not have to use any thinner.
Dabbing on the glitters helps to evenly disperse the glitters and allows you to 'place' the glitters where you want them to fall. I notice if I keep the brush somewhat on the dry side, more glitter sticks to the nail with the base color.

I also swatched this over a dark deep green and it looked equally as awesome.

If you haven't tried Naild'it, I highly recommend this brand. I have tons of these polishes and love ALL of them. There is not one yet that has disappointed me or let me down.

I hope you guys like this as much as I do. I LOVE IT!!!

Once Upon a Time I had a Poison Apple :)

Hi Guys,

Tonight I have a really fun polish for you. This polish is from Once Upon a Polish and it's called Poison Apple. All the polish I own from Once Upon a Polish are amazing. I did not know much about this Indie Polish maker when I originally ordered from them, it was just on order on a whim. I'm really glad I had that whim, they are fabulous to say the least.

UPDATE: When I originally posted this I had no idea that Once Upon a Polish closed up shop :( So sad to hear this, thus this polish is no longer available.

This is sparkly in your face glitter, and I love it!!! For those of use that have spent ALL our money on gifting presents for Christmas and have no money left for polish for ourselves, a polish like this is PERFECT. It's shiny and red 'Rudolph like', but not part of any 'Christmas' collection.  This is 2 coats of OPI Off Dreaming of Red with two coats of Poison Apple. Kelly helped me pick the base coat on this one :)

This was a polish I purchased months ago for no special reason, and it's perfect for Christmas. Tomorrow I'm going to the Mall in St Louis with my sweetie and we are having a shopping spree day. I wanted to wear something special. Kelly is feeling so much better, us going to the mall and shopping will be so fun. We split up and shop for each other, and then meet up at the end and head home lol.

I want to again thank all of you that have asked about Kelly and how he is doing. He is recovering well, and I am excited about kicking back and enjoying the up coming Holiday with him. I feel really blessed this Holiday Season to have him here.

This is going to be so fun to wear for the day tomorrow. I start my day out early working from 7am til noon, and then Kelly picks me up and takes me off to St Louis (about an hour and half away) to shop our heads off lol. I'm so excitied about it!!! I need to pick up a few last minute surprises for him!

Hope you guys like this!!! Stay tuned as the blog will be filled with Holiday Themed polishes all this week, and next week until Christmas.

I would love to hear what you guys think about this. Please leave your comments below, I love to hear what you guys have to say :)

Dual Purpose Nails - Candy Lacquer Bad Moon

Hi Guys,

I'm here with NAILS finally :) I want to thank you all again for being so faithful and patient. Tomorrow, Kelly and I are going to a Football Game :) He has made such great progress, this will be a real treat for him. He is supposed to be doing a lot of walking for his rehab, so the Stadium will be the perfect place for us to keep up with his required daily walking that we do every day.

I'm a BIG NFL Jets fan (I'm originally from New York), so when the JETS come here to the Mid-West they can not be missed lol. Kelly got me the tickets for my birthday in early September, and we both decided we are still going. The only thing I have to do is make sure he is fed before the game, because all that greasy yucky stadium food is a big no-no. We are both healthy eaters to begin with, so we usually skip stadium food as a rule of thumb anyway.

I wasn't sure how to pick up here at the blog since I have been absent so long, but with the help of YOU GUYS (on Facebook) you helped me to decide I'm going to just pick up where I left off. I will be doing Halloween/Fall polishes until the end of November. Then, December 1st I will switch over to Christmas Polishes.

My Halloween polish for today (lol - strange to say in Mid November) is Bad Moon from Candy Lacquer. It serves as a dual purpose polish for my Jets game too. It's my teams colors of white, black and green! The base coat is 2 coats of My Boyfriend Scales Walls by OPI.

(please note - My trial version of Photoshop Elements 11 has expired, and I will be purchasing it soon, so my normal graphics are on a small Hiatus lol).

I love how this turned out. I did not have to fish for the moons at all. Moons are my signature logo here at TPH, so you know I freaked out when I saw this polish and had to have it. I also love shredded glitter.

I have not done my nails since Kelly's Heart Attack on Oct 24th, so do not look too close lol. I did not take care of my cuticles at all during my absence. I just didn't have the time to worry about my nails as Kelly was recovering. All my focus was on him and getting him on his feet again. I will need a little bit of time to get my cuticles looking good again lol.

I'm excited about the Football game tomorrow. Now my nails will look awesome with all my green and white Jets Gear :)

Thanks for visiting guys and stay tuned for some more giveaway postings coming soon.

Review of Naild'it Farm Collection

Happy Sunday all :) Today I have some swatches from the latest Naild'it collection called the Farm Collection. How fun is that? These polishes are named after all farm animals. I'm originally from New York, but I live in the farm land of Missouri now, so as a new 'farm girl' I needed this lol.

Andrea over at Naild'it sent me these to review and here goes. Her shop is currently closed, but follow her on the Naild'it Facebook page, and she will let you know when the shop reopens.

Candy Lacquer LE Spotlight - Cherry Berry, Summer Sweets and Fruit Salad!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I have a fun post for you all. During the last Candy Lacquer Sale three Limited Edition polishes where offered. As soon as I saw the preview bottle shots on Facebook, I was in love. I eyed up Fruit Salad for days. I'm still not sure how I pulled it off, but I was able to order all three of the LE polishes :) My fingers moved so fast, I was sure by the time I checked out they would be gone. By some small miracle, I was able to get the set :)

A little OPI love today: Green-wich Village

Today I'm sharing with you one of my all time favorite green polishes, OPI: Green-wich Village. This is one of the first polishes I bought when I first got into my nails. A lot of time people wonder what my most used polish is, and for me this is it.

I love this tone of green, and it goes well with my skin tone. At least I think it does, lol. Greens and blues look best on me. It is such a pretty color, and every time I wear I get compliments.

As much as I have been into Indie Polishes lately I did not smoother this with glitter. I will eventually, but I wanted to wear it solo first.

It starts very sheer, but builds up to opaque very well. This is 3 coats with Seche Vite Ultra V top coat, which I cured with a UV lamp. I will have a post up in a couple of days showing all my UV supplies and how I use them. This manicure dried in 4 minutes while I was watching TV. This is so super glossy, you just can not beat the shine and the fast drying time that UV provides.

Do you guys like this? Any of you out there use UV top coats? I would love to hear all your thoughts on both, leave your comments below.

Thanks for Visiting!

Indie Spotlight: Naild'it Olympic Rings

Today is the big day for those of us that enjoy watching the Olympics. I love watching the games and experiencing the thrill that so many wonderful talented young adults experience reaching their life long dreams, so very exciting! I love to watch the swimming and gymnastics most.

Today I did an Olympic manicure. I ordered this from Naild'it on her Etsy site the same time I ordered the Summer Lovin Collection which you can see by clicking Here

This polish is in a clear base, and I layered if over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I love that name! I'm a big Spiderman freak. I originally passed this polish up and this post Here inspired me to run out and buy it. It's a wonderful white polish with a touch of grey. You can even see that in my pictures below. This is my new favorite white polish and it gave me 1/2 the headaches that most my other whites are during application. I made my accent nail black (Illamasque Black - my Favorite black) to show off the white bar glitters on that nail.

Here is Olympic Rings....

I love it it. I'm horrible at nail art, and this makes me feel like I can have a 'themed' manicure too.

Then, of course I added Hard Candy Matte top coat lol. I love this stuff.

This came out perfect and I will be sporting these while watching the opening ceremonies (on TV of course lol).

Will you be watching the Olympics? If so, what are your favorite things to watch during the games? I would love to hear from you guys!

Pretty In Pink

Today I have a fun one. This is OPI: Pink Me I'm Good. This was a Limited Edition OPI that was sold at Ulta for Valentine's Day in 2010. I really wanted this when it came out, my closest Ulta is a 1 & 1/2 hour drive (each way), and I remember taking the drive just for this polish way back when.

I'm still on vacation, and this one did give me some trouble with application. It was very very thick, and I really needed to have thinner for this. I was on my way out the door for dinner when I was applying it, so by the time I realized I needed thinner it was too late lol. This is one of the those polishes, for me, that does need thinner in between uses.

I made due and I'm really happy how it came out. This is 3 coats. I did very little clean up. I thought being on vacation I would have time for being more picky, and that is just not the case. There is less time LOL.

I used Seche UV and my UV light to dry this in a bout 10 minutes so I can run out the door. It still looks great and I'm having trouble wanting to change this one.

It is a Pink Jelly with gold glitter, and flashes colors of orange/gold to me when in bright light. It is GORGEOUS to say the least. It was so worth the drive for this.

Hope you guys like it! Happy Friday.

Christmas in June :)

Today I want to show you the nail polish I selected to start off my Vacation! I had this cute sailor top that was red and white striped and wanted to match to that. I decided on OPI Dear Santa.

This is a really pretty red with gold glitter, but with a definite duochromish look to the glitter. (Edit) - on close inspection the glitter is red and gold and when each flashes, the mix gives it a duo illusion. Also, it is a JELLY! :)

It's a unique color to my collection, and I do love to wear it with red outfits. I put this on as I was leaving the door on Sunday to take off for a week of fun at Lake of the Ozarks :)

NOTD - New Year's Mani

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wanted to share my New Year's Mani with you guys. What I ended up doing was adding a gradient glitter tip to my current Zoya Kelly Manicure. This is my first attempt at adding glitter tips. I used the sponge method to apply the Glitter.  It was much easier said then done lol.

I added OPI: Rainbow Connection (Muppet's Collection). I know a lot of people were disappointed in this collection because the glitters where not able to be worn alone, but they are perfect for a Glitter Top Gradient. This is the only polish I currently have out of the Muppet's Collection.

There seems to be three sizes of glitters in this polish. One is a multi color small size regular glitter, and mixed in is a gorgeous hex glitter in medium and large sizes.

The colors are Red, Blue, Pink/Purple, Green, Gold and Silver. It truly is a Rainbow.

Hope Everyone Had a Safe and Happy New Year.

Christmas Mani - Dear Santa (outdoor)

Just a quick post today ....

I finally got a small peek of sunlight and went running out my house with camera in hand lol. Lately we have had nothing but dreary dark rainy days. This sun was much awaited.

My Last post I showed you this same mani (last night) with indoor night pictures. These day time pictures really show the true beauty of this polish so I like to show both aspects when I can.

This polish has the most amazing dimension to it. When the light hits it, you can see layers of glitter and yumminess. I ended up loving how this looks on the nail.

I take a lot of pictures because the polish looks different in various light levels and I love to show that aspect in my photos.

I try not to edit my pictures at all if possible. Most are just cropped.  When I do do adjustments in Picasa 3 it's usually contrast only - which only darkens my skin color some.

I love this color and it seems to be a HTF. Do you guys own this polish? If so, do you like? I would love to hear your thoughts on this one.

Merry Christmas - Happy Holidays

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

This is a little late. but I wanted to show you guys my Christmas Mani :) Today I used OPI: Dear Santa. I have had this for awhile, but haven't used it til today. I have A LOT of untrieds and it was nice to wear this one finally.

I haven't thought this completely threw, but for 2012 I'm going to attempt to use one untried - once a week. Not sure what day of the week yet, but it mostly likely be Saturdays/Sundays.  This is the only time I see daylight in the Winter for good blog pictures lol. I will continue to purchase and use new polishes but that can be other days inbetween. It's not fully planned out yet, but before the New Year I will announce the details.

Back on to my nails :)

These are indoor pictures, but It's the best I can do. I usually hate posting indoor pictures.  I was so excited about using this and all my Nail polish related gifts that I just HAD to post.

I used SV Ultraviolet (UV) Top Coat. Kelly Bought me this for Christmas.

So Sparkly and Glowing!

I figured this was the perfect named polish for today!

Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to take proper pictures outdoors.

Next gift was my New Helmer and Nail Dryer!!! Whooohoo.

I already had one Helmer, but now I have a second one and much more space too.
Santa was really nice to me this year.

This nail dryer is amazing. It has UV lights AND a Fan. There are three settings:

1. UV Light
2. Fan (Fan Blowing Only)
3. Have Both On.
It also has a timer for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 minutes.

I used it tonight (along with the SV -UV Top Coat), and I was floored by it's performance. It cured in 7 minutes, and my nails were completely dry in 10. I was up baking cookies and washing my hands after the 10 minutes, and it worked. I highly recommend this. My Dry Drops, SV,  and Posh are BYE BYE gone.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you and your family are having a Happy and Safe Holiday!

NOTD - Vampire State Building

This weeks nail color choice was a bit of a mind bender lol. I was trying to think what would be a good fall color for the next few days (before my Thanksgiving nails) and also be a good color to celebrate the release of TWILIGHT :)  A polish for both maybe?

After digging threw over 350 bottles of nail polish (LOL). I came up with my OPI: Vampire State Building.  YIPPEEEE - PERFECT!!! A beautiful fall color and VAMPIRES, combining the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday and the release of Twilight perfectly.

I can not stress how much I love this polish.  Both the color and the consistency is out of this word. This has to be the best consistancy EVER!!! Out of all my OPI nail polishes, other brands, even Pricey brands (RBL's etc) this beats them all hands down.  This stuff goes on effortlessly. I wish every polish could be like this one.

This color is so unique. Now I know a lot of you are thinking, "Wait, that's a dupe to MOLBBQ - Mrs. O'learys BBQ from OPI".  I do not own MOLBBQ, so I wasn't sure myself ...so off I went on my quest to find this polish lol.  I wanted to do a comparison swatch to show you the similarities/differences.  I searched high and low, and no luck in my local area.  I guess I want to kick myself for this, in the past I have seen MOLBBQ in my local stores (not too long ago) and passed it up *slaps forehead* lol.  My quest will continue til I find it lol.

Meanwhile, the best I can do is show you other comparisons that others have done. I found a really good comparison at Keethamina Pretty Ballerina Blog.  At first glance they may look alike, BUT look closer.  MOLBBQ definitely has purple undertones and VSB as brown as it's undertone. As we all know in the nail polish world, dupe is defined as an EXACT MATCH.  That means your eye's can not decipher between the two. I can see a difference, thus not a dupe in my opinion. (PS. Keethamina Pretty Ballerina is an awesome nail blog - a great one to follow - her nails are gorgeous).

On to my manicure lol (phew that was long) :O)

It makes me so excited to use VSB , since it's so amazing!!!

I used OPI Start to Finish as my Basecoat, 2 coats of VSB, and Start to Finish as my Topcoat.

When I track down MOLBBQ, I will be back for my own comparison!

Stay tuned for Thanksgiving nails :)
