Happy Birthday Argyle

Hi everyone :)

First, I want to send my wishes out to all those in the Northeast that are getting hit by Nemo. My entire family and lots of my friends live there so my heart is heavy tonight. I hope everyone is safe!

Second, I want to wish my wonderful husband, Kelly, a VERY VERY Happy Birthday. The poor guy has been struggling with chest pains for several weeks, and after a bunch of test they have decided to go back in his chest on Monday to check over his stints. I'm hoping it's something minor, but it could also lead to bypass surgery if needed. We won't know anything until Monday. We check in the hospital at 1pm Monday and our return home date is up in the air. Please say a prayer for him.

Tonight my post is a birthday mani for Kelly. His favorite color is purple...so of course I was going all out purple. I started with one coat of Rescue Beauty Lounge's MISMAS. A super gorgeous purple polish. I than dabbed on a few coats of Candy Lacquers Purple Argyle.

To top things off, I did one coat of Seche Vite (regular formula) and one coat of Seche Vite (UV formula). I then dried them under my UV light nail drier for several minutes, and then I was out the door for Kelly's Birthday dinner. With the impending surgery Monday, I wanted him to have a special meal tonight and a special mani.

This combination came out so much better than planned. Check out the fine glitters that add that special background sparkle. The polish has purple, white, black and HOLO diamond shape glitters. Super fabulous.

The polish also contains white, black and HOLO bar glitter. The combination is over the top WOW.

This is one of those happy surprise polishes. This polish didn't really look special in the bottle. It seemed kind of just there. Sitting in a tray next to other glitter polishes, it didn't seem to stand out. Once the polish was on the nail, it was a totally different story...it was amazing. I'm now sorry I overlooked it for so long.

Kelly really liked it a lot, so it was perfect. I hope you guys like it!. I will try and do another post before Kelly gets admitted to the Hospital Monday. I have a feeling that it will be a day filled with unbearable stress, and if my nails are gross and messy it will just make me feel a billion times worse. I think most of you that polish your nails understand this. You are having a horrible day crying, and you look at your yuck nails and you just break down even more and then feel WAY worse. I'm going to wear something happy and positive that day.  Please say a prayer for us, it would be much appreciated.

 Be back soon!!!

Indie Spotlight: 4th of July Nails - Lush Lacquer Snap Crackle POP :)

Here is my first polish for this week for the 4th of July. Last year I ordered too late and I didn't have the polishes I wanted for the 4th, this year I planned ahead and ordered in early June lol.  I'm now doing this for any holiday polishes I want.

This is one coat of RBL Dead Calm topped with one coat of Lush Lacquer's Snap Crackle Pop. This ended up being a PERFECT combo. I was so happy how this turned out. I was giddy with the results lol.

I'm so thrilled and happy that I ordered this. I had never seen it before, but I had a good feeling about it. I was so right on with this one. It has a combo of large blue and white hex glitter, smaller red hex glitter, red and white bar glitter, red white and blue micro glitter. It is like an explosive firework on your fingertips!

I'm excited about rocking this on my nails the next couple of day! I have a different polish for Wednesday the 4th, and now I am not sure I can take this one off lol.

One thing I love about Lushlacquer is her Etsy shop is always stocked, but be aware it takes 2-3 weeks to receive your polish - so plan ahead!

I hope you guys like. Thanks for visiting and please leave me links to your 4th nails. I would love to see!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Bikini Bottom

Today I have an oldie but goodie polish from Rescue Beauty Lounge - Bikini Bottom!

I needed something very light and classy looking because today is my first day at my new job - yippee! I wasn't really sure what to do nail wise. I have only went for an interview (one visit to the location), and it was hard for me to decipher if the girls had there nails painted or not. It is a bank and I don't think they have polish rules, but I wasn't positive. I'm sure I have always seen bank tellers with polished fingers - am I right?

I originally wanted to do a nude, but I just couldn't do it lol. I'm not a fan of light colors at all so going nude was too crazy for me (LOL). I picked this instead, a very very pale blue. My manager is a female and she is very sweet and nice and I figure today I will ask her if polish is an issue and what rules they do have about it. Let's hope she doesn't say no polish - I WOULD DIE haha. I don't think this is the case, because your hands are very visual at a bank and no polish would look blah (at least to me).  We will see.

Here is Bikini Bottom.

This polish is extremely sheer and there was an obvious VNL on the first and second coats. I ended up with 4 coats to make it opaque. I know four coats sounds extreme, but this polish is so thin and light that 4 coats does not feel thick. It feels like most 2 and 3 coaters I usually where.

I actually LOVE how it came out. I bet I could have used less coats if I had started with a coat of white as a base first, I just didn't think of that til it was too late. I had heard a lot of negative things about this polish being too sheer, but with 4 coats I love it and it really is not thick at all!

What do you guys think.

Thanks for visiting and wish me luck lol!

Added Essie Shine of The Times to RBL No More War

I was bored with my Rescue Beauty Lounge: No More War so I wanted to kick it up some. I decided to add Essie Shine of the Times, and all I can say is WOW!!!

I would not have waited this long to use this polish if I knew just how amazing it is.

GORGEOUS!!! If you have this polish make sure you do not keep it in your untrieds.

I took this is different light angles to see the color flash.

In this light it looks like a RAINBOW!!!

This polish is SO DENSE and SO AMAZING!

Do you guys have this polish? I would love to hear what your reactions are to this one. If you have pics on your blogs, please leave your links - I would love to see.

Thanks for looking!

Untried No. 1 - RBL No More War NOTD and a Comparison

Today is the first day of my 2012 Untried Challenge. My first polish up is Rescue Beauty Lounge: No More War. I got this in a swap and I HAD to use. I absolutely LOVE LOVE this color. My Favorite Nail Polish Color is Green and these that are called Baby Puke (lol) are my favorite types of color. It is mind blowing.

I missed out on ordering this back in 2010 when RBL had their end of year 50% off sale. Soon after that sale I cut my hand and dropped out of polish for awhile. In the time of my absence from polish the color was discountinued. I have to say this was my biggest regret of all time.

After much waiting and searching, I was able to obtain this in a swap.  I have to say as of right now this is my favorite color in my collection of about 320 polishes.

On to the pictures...

YUMMY for me :)

It's a gorgeous green with a slight yellowish tint. A true Beauty all around.

I also decided to do a comparison with Zoya Dree as I myself was curious what the difference was.

Sorry for the messy swatch :) As you can see the colors are not even close. The Zoya is a true army green and the RBL is more yellow and deep.

For those of you that are interested, I am closely approaching 200 followers. My giveaway will be posted as soon as the 200th follower appears. Stay tuned!
