Stamping Plates anyone?...

Purchased by Me

Tonight I'm going to show you my some of my stamping plates. I finally took the leap and purchased all the Bundle Monster Plates. Currently there are 3 sets with Bundle Monster: 2010, 2011, and 2012.

I did not photograph all 71 plates since the pictures would make this the longest blog post ever lol. If you would like a closer look at the sets, just click the links above, and you will be taken to the Bundle Monster website to have a closer look.

I also purchased the Bundle Monster stamping plate holder. I really hadn't see this on many posts, so I took a chance with this item. I figured otherwise, trying to find a home for all these new plates would be a challange.

I LOVE THE HOLDER. This is the smartest thing ever created for stampers.

Each page hold 12 plates, (6 plates on each side), and the holder has 14 pages.  That is a lot of plate storage.

I purchased two of these.

I have my Bundle Monster Plates in one holder and my Winstonia Plates/Konad Plates in another. That allows plenty of room to expand in the future with all the empty pages I have. These holders retail on Bundle Monster for $14.99 USD, and can be found >HERE<. The Bundle Monster site describes the holder as: a modern shiny vinyl, faux-croc skin textured outter cover with a soft velvet-like lining.

The holders are so soft and pliable. I love these holders and I can not rave about them enough. My plates are so organized and easy to find now. I highly recommend these.

I also purchased the new Winstonia Plate set. This set is brand new, and I was happy to be able to order it with a discount coupon.

This set retails for $15.99 USD on Winstonia's Web site >HERE<. They offer a lot of discount codes, so if you follow them on Facebook you won't miss out on any of the available sale codes.

I now have Bundle Monster, Winstonia and Konad plates. Here is a picture of a plate from each of the sets.

As you can see above, the whole nail images on the Bundle Monster 2010 plates are very tiny, and Bundle Monster increased the size with later plates. The Konad full nail stamps are also smaller.  Knowing the different sizes really helped me when I was purchasing. Be aware of the image sizes when purchasing.

I still have a lot of practice to go on this stamping thing. It does take some practice for sure. I did use my BM's plates on part of my recent Syracuse Nails >HERE<. Stay tuned for more stamping projects!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Today I have a fun post. I did some long anticipated stamping! Yes, you heard me correctly.....I stamped!

I used Zoya Sharon and Maya Cosmetics Envy. Both polishes were the perfect colors for St. Patrick's Day. I added in some striping tape and rhinestones, and came up with this design :)

The Zoya Sharon is a Limited Edition polish that Zoya was kind enough to include in a recent promo. The Promo: When you made a purchase of 20$ or more, you received Sharon as a free gift! How amazing is Zoya for offering this?!  This is now my new favorite orange. Orange polishes, similar to yellow, tend to be thick and difficult to apply. This orange was not at all like most of my others. This formula on Sharon was very easy to work with, was not clumpy or streaky. I will be using this as my go to orange from here on out. You will be seeing this again here at ThePolishHoochie.

The Maya Cosmetics Envy is a new release. This formula was on the thick side. It is so packed full of glitters, it causes it to be extremely thick. I did not thin this polish and wish I had. It's has beautiful sparkle and is unique in my collection. Even thought it was thick (which I know is fixable) I really love the look of it overall. This is a keeper for me.

The stamping plate I used is an older no frills plate that was included in a set of 6 plates. I purchased the set HERE. The set now sells for UNDER 5$ USD. I recently ordered all three sets of Bundle Monster plates, so I figured I better start stamping. This is the first time I have stamped in over a year (maybe longer).

I usually do not do these type of manicures, so I thought it would be fun for St. Patrick's Day.

I used striping tape from THE BORN PRETTY STORE for my middle finger, I was going for a plaid look. I'm pleased with how it came out.

Use code EPL91 to save 10% on all orders from The Born Pretty Store.

I used Konad Special Polishes in both White and Green for the stamped Shamrocks.

I love how this all came together. I hope you guys had just as much fun with your St. Patrick's Day Manicures as I did.

Did you do a St. Paddy's Manicure this year? Please link yours in the comments if you did, I would love to see them!!!

When I get bored I ...

First I wanted to thank everyone that expressed concerns about me being sick. Today I am feeling much much better and I appreciate all the well wishes.

This is what happens when I get bored. Kelly brought me a bunch of nail art stuff to play with, and I was really bored...so I attacked my Vday Mani lol. It wasn't tacky enough, so I kicked it up some :)

I'm just experimenting before I take this mani off tomorrow. This is the best time to test new things and try new techniques. It's also the best time to practice stamping too. On an old mani that you are about to remove.

This is what I did to it. It's my first time using scotch tape for making tips and the lines are wayyyy off lol, but I really tossed this on for fun and I thought I would share my craziness with you.

Thanks for stopping by :)

(excuse my hurt ring finger cuticle in the pics - it got caught on something ouchy)

Valentine's Day Mani

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and happy Valentine's Day. Here is my V-day Mani. The Base coat is Essie E! Live from the Red Carpet.  I combined Konad stamping (scary I know lol), nail tattoos, and rhinestones to create my LOVE mani :) To me V-day always makes me think really over the top tacky hearts and lips all over everything. I wanted this to have that same look, so I made it as tacky as I could hehehe.

As most of you know I am a nightmare when it comes to stamping, but I never give up lol. I love the little lips that are part of Konad plate M4.

(Image above is Copyrighted property of www.konadnailart.com and used here for reference only)

Once I stamped the image I used a Q-tip and Acetone to wipe the lettering off the stamp before I transferred the remaining image to the nail. I wanted only the lips and not the 'kiss me' wording.

I also added a bob wired nail tattoos to the bottom for some contrast, and the final touch was a clear rhinestone.

I also added skull nail tattoos to my thumbs as well. Cute Cute :) and super V-day tacky for sure lol.

The amazing part is this time I only smeared the lip stamp a tiny tiny tiny bit. So I guess it's possible I'm getting better at this stamping thing (NOT lol).

Thanks so much for visiting today guys!!!

Konad Stamping

Before I removed my last mani I decided to attempt  some stamping. I am HORRIBLE at stamping, but I figured if I keep practicing that it will get better eventually, at least that's what I keep telling myself for lol.

I used Orly Shine, it didn't give a crisp enough stamp. It's probably user error for sure. It wasn't too horrible, so I figured I would show you guys. Maybe I should have named this post Stamping Gone Wild lol.  When Bad Stamping happens to Good People (thanks to Lori for giving me that idea).

Below is the plate I used, since it's impossible to tell what I used with my less than mediocre attempt lol. I used Konad plate M64

Thanks for visiting today.

PSA: We are so close to 200 Followers!!! I'm stalking the numbers, and as soon as I see it hit 200 I will post about the giveaway - so stay tuned!

Untried No.2 - BB Couture Joker NOTD - Untried Saturday

Today is Untried Saturday here at ThePolishHoochie.  Today's Untried is BB Couture's Joker! The formula on this brand is A++. Very smooth and not clumpy and thick at all. This formula compares to some of my higher end polishes for sure.

Now since this is a purple it is one of the hardest polishes to photograph. To get the true purple color it is very tough, even with white balance adjustments.
These pictures are a the closest to the true purple as possible.

It's a gorgeous purple with a very delicate shimmer. These pictures show the shimmer as well, that is also extremely difficult to capture and only seen in very bright light at certain angles.  Most lights it looks like a creme purple.

I added Konad stamping and a Matte Top Coat onto my ring finger as an accent.

My thumb on that same hand was also Matted, along with a very cute pink heart decal.

Maybe a prelude to upcoming Valentine's Day :)

Check Out the shimmer in this polish - GORGEOUS-NESS!!!

Thanks for visiting me on Untried Saturdays. 2 Down and 51 more to go (lol). For the remainder of 2012 a new Untried from my stash will be showcased here on Untried Saturdays.

I will also continue to do my new purchased polishes on other days when I can.

*A new category was added to the left sidebar labels listing called Untried Saturday. This way if you miss any - you can check them out all in one easy to access place.*

Do you guys have BB Couture? If so, do you like them? My formula seemed just superb!

Yester...year :)

I wanted to take a small walk down memory lane.  I was just going over my past blog posts, and I wanted to bring back one of my Fav Konadicures that I ever did.  This was posted on my blog when I first started out blogging, and I think I had 2 followers at the time lol.  I think most of you have not seen this so I just had to share it again :)

I did this for the NCAA Basketball Tournament in March.  I was trying to get a sneaker and basketball look all in one :)

Base Polish: Nicole by OPI - Fresh Squeezed (3 Coats)
Stripes: Orly Shine (1 Coat)
Konad Black special Polish
Konad Plate: M7

(Notes: This was done on a week old mani for testing but I loved it so much)

I hope everyone has a wonderful and very safe Labor Day Weekend!

Konad ala Rebel style

Before I remove my Rebel nail polish from P2, I decided to do another practice Konad.  I figure if I mess it up there is nothing to lose as I was removing the polish anyway!

Here are the results using Plate M15 and Special White Polish.  Remember this Mani is several days old so my poor cuticles etc are not up to par and there is serious tip wear.

Yes I did take a lot of pics lol...just loved how it came out despite the tip wear.  This is one of my favorite plates (I love this star).  what's your favorite plate? Leave your thought in the comments below.

Thanks for visiting!

NCAA Konad Design

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but my household has been glued to the NCAA Basketball March Madness Tournament the last several days. Like faces nail glued to the TV screen :P

Speaking of Basketball, here is my Konad design I created for Basketball this week. I only just started Konading and this is just my second attempt and I wanted to do something Basketball oriented. The base color is Nicole by O.P.I. Fresh Squeezed which is part of their new 2010 Spring release that just came out. I came across this at my Shopko, but they can also be found at Walmart. Make sure you check the core line racks at Walmart - I don't believe they have the special display.

This was done on a 4 day old Manicure so it's not top notch. It's pretty much faded and grown out but I think this is the best way to test Konad when you are new at it like myself. Instead of removing the manicure I Konad on it, and get one more day of wear. If I mess up the practice Konad, then I take everything off as originally planned. So far the method has worked the last two times with no fails :)

(Nicole by O.P.I.: Fresh Squeezed, Orly: Shine and Konad Plate M7)
I now have Basketball Sneaker Nails :)

Thanks for stopping by!
