From the long lost archives of Halloween? Bitches Brew

Hi Guys,

I'm slowly working on getting more posts and activity up and going here at the PolishHoochie. As I was cleaning out my files on my PC, I came across these pictures that I took with the intentions of posting them for my Halloween Swatch-a-thon from 2013. Some how these photos didn't make it in, well I could not let them go to waste ...So here they are!

I was lucky enough to win this polish from the Lovely SassyPaints2012 actually in 2012 lol. I was so thrilled to win it because I had missed it for Sale from Nail Pattern Boldness when it was offered (not knowing it would be sold again in 2013). SassyPaints has since become a really good friend and trusted friend of mine - LOVE HER. I waited it seems like forever to finally use it, so these pictures needed to go up!

The glitters in this are out of this world. You guys all know the glitter Hoochie I am :) The base color is Tardy Tart by Sation. Sation polishes are fast becoming my favorite polishes as a base for under all my glitter polishes, and the fact that they are really inexpensive and of great quality makes it even better.

And of course I had to bust out the Matte Top Coat.

If you have not used a matte top coat on a glitter before, you are really missing out. Matte top coat and glitter nail polishes are meant to be together :)

Love this combo so much, and I hope you guys do too! Thank you for visiting.

Fanchormtic Nail Swatches

Press Sample (Fanchromatic Nails)
Purchased by Me (Models Own and Sation)

Today I have three awesome polishes from Fanchromatic Nails.

This is two coats of Raptor Girl on it's on, no base color needed for this one. To me, this reminds me of a fish tank lol. I loved this one and the formula was wonderful.  It brushed on beautifully and I had no issues with it at all. .

The next color is a really pretty Pink/Lavender polish with a Lavender and Gold shimmer. Gorgeou!!.

You can see the micro glitter Gold shimmer really well in this picture. I did have to layer this over a base coat and I used Sation Lilac That, which was a perfect match for this.

This is a medium shade of Grey with Silver, Light Blue, and Dark Blue Glitters.  I love the mix of glitters in this. It's very subtle and very pretty.

I did have to layer this over a Grey base of Models Own Grey Day. This was a los a perfect match for this polish.

Over all I had no issues with any of the formulas. I didn't have to use thinner on anything and they played very nicely with the base colors.

If you would like to Purchase for Fanchromtics you can visit their Etsy Shop.
You can also visit Fanchromatics on Facebook.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you are all having a Great Weekend!

Trelly's M.I.S.C. Flamingos in the Pool swatch

Press Sample  - Trelly's M.I.S.C
Purchased by Me  - Sation

Just a real quick post tonight. I decided to try out Trelly's M.I.S.C. Flamingos in the Pool. It's a bright pink that leans on the fluorescent side. I layered this over 2 coats of Sation's Beyond the Bubblegum Pink.

It makes me think of the cheesy plastic flamingos that people put in their yards for lawn decorations... hahah.

(above photo courtesy of www.plasticyardflamingo.com lol - not kidding on that website name)

Super fun and bright. I really had fun with this one. The formula was great, I didn't thin it and I brushed and dabbed it on. The stars came out on there own, no having to place them.

If you want to check out more of Cassie's amazing creation, you can track her down on Facebook HERE. She always lists dates with restock information for her Etsy store.

Candy Lacquer Spring Fever ...In Summer :)

Purchased by Me

I have had this polish sitting around in my collection since the Spring, and before Fall starts, I wanted to use it. I can get away using it in the Summer, but I don't think it would work well with the Fall so much.

I paired Spring Fever with Sation's Loudest Color. I wanted bright and wild. I think I achieved that exact thing...

Loudest color is a fabulous neon yellowish greenish polish (yes, adding 'ish' to the end of a word makes a real word, I promise lol). It leans more towards green(ish). I did have to do 3 coats of it to get it opaque, so use thin thin layers if you decide to duplicate this look.

I knew the combo would be great.

I know I know, It is WAY past Spring time lol, but better late than never :)  I figured before it's Fall - I would get it done!

I love how the large purple dot glitters and pink butterfly glitters complement the neon. This one is not for the faint of heart.

Thanks for visiting guys, and stay tuned. I have a bunch of giveaways coming up so make sure you are subscribed to ThePolishHoochie Facebook Page to participate.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Who's Da Bomb? Lisa Frank and Trelly's M.I.S.C is...

Press Sample Purchased by Me

I'm in the middle of my yearly family vacation so this is going to be brief as far as my dialog goes, which may be a good thing lol. I will have a ton fo pictures tho, so don't fear :)

If there is one polish you purchase this summer, this should be it. This is Lisa Frank is Da Bomb by Trelly's M.I.S.C.

The colors are dead on for Lisa Frank. It's all about loud bright colors, so I did the same with my base. This is Sation's Let's Make Lemonade....a PERFECT match for this polish!

HOW FUN ARE IS THIS POLISH??!!

The glitters and colors are so stand out for me in this polish. If you get a chance to grab this one you should, it's a must have for Summer 2013!

Trelly's M.I.S.C. Barbie's Dream House

Press Sample

Tonight I have another amazing polish created by Trelly's M.I.S.C. called Barbie's Dream House for the new Summer 2013 line.  The colors are so fun!! This definitely reminds me of Barbie when I look at the shades of pink in this.

I wanted a really fun base for this one. I was really drawn to the yellowish green hex glitters in this, so I decided to bring that color in as the base. The base is the Loudest color by Sation. It was a prefect match for this polish. It's a bright fluorescent yellowish green.

There are only 4 colors in this polish, and they compliment each other so nicely. There is light pink, dark pink, yellowish green, and white. The shapes in this one are fun too, hex, rectangular, square, and star shapes.

This is part of Trelly's M.I.S.C's new Summer 2013 line, which include several noen glitter polishes. Neon has been big this summer and I'm loving these polishes that are incorporating neon in them.

Influenster Review

I hope everyone is doing well today. We have had several horrible storms rip threw my area over the last 3 days, and I have been away from my PC during that time. We did have a Tornado touch down near us, but luckily my home, family and friends are safe. I can only hope the same for all my viewers out there!

Today I have a fun and different type of post. Influenster sent me a box sponsored by Palmolive.  I know for me, being a nail person, anything that I apply to my hands is important. I have extremely DRY skin so I'm cautious with products, even dish detergent.

As you can see, my package was a little beat up for the post, but the contents were safe inside!

Palmolive has long known that the daily task of doing dishes shouldn't wreak havoc on your hands. Their formula now has more caring ingredients than before, with the latest offerings in the Palmolive Soft Touch dish liquid line. Palmolive as always, tough on grease, soft on hands.

I received two bottles, Aloe (blue bottle) and Vitamin E (pink Bottle).

The Aloe version is formulated for Dry Skin and the Vitamin E version is formulated for soft hands.

I'm normally a Dawn person when it comes to my dish detergents. I was currently using Dawn with OLAY Moisturizer. So when I received these I was really anxious to try them out. This is probably the first time I was ever excited to do dishes lol.

I LOVED them. I tried the Soft on Hands Vitamin E formula first. I really loved how soft it felt. I tested it on an extremely greasy pan. It cut through the grease with no issues. I didn't get that greasy feeling on glass like I do when I have tried other off brands that I have grabbed because of the sale price (which I regretted after the purchase). The only thing I didn't like was the slightly floral smell. The smell was strong and pleasant, I'm just not a floral person over all.

Next, I tested the Dry Skin Aloe formula. This one was a hit for me!!! The smell was more earthy and natural (right up my ally). Again, it cut threw the grease with no issues, pretty much exactly like my Dawn does. The feeling of my hands afterwards was amazing. I can truly say I will not be purchasing the Dawn OLAY anymore. I was getting a skin tightening feeling after use, and that is not happening with the Palmolive. I washed dishes over an hour ago and my hands still feel soft, no tightening feeling that I always get after washing dishes.

I highly recommend both of these. If you are like me, and struggle with lots of dry skin and dry cuticles, this product is for you - Your hands will thank you!

Now, since I'm all about the nails - I matched up my nails with the bottles lol.

Swatched with Sation: Plenty of Frogs. This is my new favorite Sation polish. A gorgeous green with pretty glitter shimmer. It is SO PRETTY!!!!! This is a must have Sation. This was a fast sloppy swatch just having fun with my new soaps lol.

Swatched with Sation: Teacher's Pet. Ughhh probably my worst formula polish EVER. I love my Sation polishes, but this one was a HOT MESS. It streaked, it dragged and it caused balding. I thinned it, and that made it just a watery HOT MESS. I hate to even show you this swatch - it was that bad. I think I'm actually going to throw this polish away lol. I wouldn't even give it away....I would not wish this horror on anyone! I'm not having the greatest swatching day so maybe I will try it another day. We will see.

Thanks for visiting guys. Check out Palmolive's Website for more information on these fabulous new dish detergents!

Polished Addict - Swatches

Press Sample

Today I have a new Indie Polish for the blog that I'm really excited about! I received a email from Polish Addict asking me to review some polishes, I have only recently seen her polishes pop up on Facebook but I was very intrigued, so I jumped at the opportunity to swatch some polishes for her. Today I will show you 2 polishes that are both mind blowing to me :)
First up is 20/20
This is a super creamy white based polish with scattered glitters in different colors and sizes. This polish is super fun and festive. It reminds me of a birthday party or a birthday cake with sprinkles. The formula on this one was decent, considering it's a white polish. We all know the hardships of white polish (thickness).
I love the large black hex glitters and black bar glitters. We all know about my secret obsession with bar glitters. I think I love bar glitters so much, because so many others fear it lol.

I love the bottles on these polishes. The fun colorful labels are eye catching, and even more so in real life.
Though the formula was slightly thick, (I blame the white base on that), the glitters in this were awesome. They easily brushed on and spread evenly. No fishing for glitters, if that's a concern. I was super impressed with the formula and how smoothly it applied.
Next up is Hypnotize. I can not even tell you how amazing this is. I feel like this polish was custom made just for me lol.  This polish is not in a clear base, it's the color of the bottle, but I still layered it. I believe you can leave it on it's own if you choose to, but you would have to do at least 3 coats.
I layered mine over Sation's Loudest Color. It was a match made in heaven.

CHECK THIS OUT....!!!

This polish is so impressive. The formula was perfect and went on so easily. As in 20/20 the glitters (including the stars) brushed on very easy as well. No fishing for glitters here!
I love the giant white Hex glitters in this. You can see one above on my ring finger nail and below on my pointer finger nail.

This is probably the only polish I have ever had with stars that did not have to be fished out. The glitters are really packed into both of these polishes!

Both polishes were beyond my expectation, and you will be seeing a lot more of this brand here at The Polish Hoochie.  How gorgeous is this??!! I am not taking this one off. I refuse HA!

My favorite part of this polish is the shimmer within it. Can you see it too in the close up above? I'm putting this polish in my number 1 slot of all time. Yes, I love it that much! I already see that this bottle will be used up quickly. I need a back up of this STAT:)
If you want to purchase polishes from Polish Addict you can do so HERE (discontinued shop) or HERE.You can also follow the Polish Addict on Facebook HERE and keep up to date on sale times and restocks.

Autism Awareness ...

Purchased by Me

April is Autism Awareness Month, so I will be doing a manicure for Autism Awareness for today and blue manicures for the remainder of April.

For a long time, many people didn't even know what Autism was, so awareness is the first step. I myself do not have anyone in my family that has Autism, but I have friends that have Autistic children, so I wanted to join in to help spread awareness.

I followed this video tutorial on Youtube that can be found HERE. I have to say I enjoyed doing these so much. They are time consuming, but so worth it in the end. I'll be wearing these to work tomorrow as well.

Colors I used:

China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky (Yellow)
Sation - Board Girl Blue (Dark Blue)
Sation - Hot 4 Teacher (Red)
Sation - Jock Juggler (Light Blue)

I used regular Scotch tape for making my squares, and a dotting tool to make the circles.

My regular readers also know how obsessed I am with Matte Top Coat, so of course I used that to finish things off.

Hope you like these :) How many of you will be joining in the Blue Manicures for April. Love to hear your comments :)
