Maya Cosmetics New Release!

Hi Guys,

Tonight I have a special post featuring Maya Cosmetics. The following two polishes will be available for sale starting tomorrow January 10, 2013.

First up is It's Not Easy. This polish will be part of the Maya Cosmetics Core line and is available for sale for $8.00/bottle until the end of February. You can purchase yours HERE.

For those of you that follow my blog you know how I love my green polishes, and this is no exception. I can honestly say I am in LOVE with this polish. Check out all the depth this polish has. It has the perfect amount of hex glitter added and a gorgeous shimmer.  This is my first Maya Cosmetics polish and I am seriously impressed!

This polish contains large and small dark green hex glitters and a large light green hex glitter. The combination is stunning and so pretty to say the least.

The next color is part of Maya Cosmetics Limited Edition Crescent City Collection, a New Orleans inspired collection. It is called Cookin' Creole. I am usually not a fan of light polishes, but this is perfect for me. It is such a delcious pale brown and it is packed with glitters. This is the type of light polish I love!

HOW GORGEOUS!!! Check out the small black glitters, my favorite part that makes this polish very unique. This can also be purchased for $8.00/bottle and again it's Limited Edition, so grab yours while you can.  You can also visit Maya Cosmetics on Facebook to keep up to date on all new releases and company announcements.

Both polishes are 3 coats alone and they both applied like butter for me with no issues. The formula was so smooth that these will be added to my 'easy' pile. My Easy pile contains polishes that are super carefree and easy to apply for when you want to look great but don't have a lot of time to mess with typical glitter polish.

What do you guys think of the new colors? Have your tried this brand yet? I would love to hear what you guys think! Please leave your comments below.

Please Read :) Major Blog Change...

Hi Everyone,

I just recently updated my email address here at ThePolishHoochie Blog. During this transition, things are going to change a little for the blogs I was 'following'.

Since I had to change my email address, all the people I was following on the OLD email address need to be deleted and transfered to the NEW email address. This is not a simple task, and will take several days to complete.

If I was following your blog, and now no longer seem to be that just means I am in the process of un-following you with the old email address and re-following you with the new email address. I will let you all know when I'm done so If I don't re-follow you then you know I accidental missed you.  When I'm finished the transition, I will have a new post up where you can add your blog address for me to follow again if I did indeed miss you.

I'm really sorry for the confusion guys, but my my old email address had to go :) Thanks for the patience in my transition of email accounts.

Party Time - New Years :) and Rainbow Polish

Hi Guys,

Today I wanted to show you guys my nails that I wore on New Years Eve to celebrate the start of 2013. This is three coats of Essie Greenport topped with Rainbow Polishes Havasu. RP is becoming a new favorite Indie polish for me, her stuff is truly FABULOUS!.

This manicure was so sparkly and fun. It reminded me of confetti and a big ole party. It was just perfect for bringing in the New Year. I can not tell you the amount of compliments I have received on these nails. I lost count lol.

As you can tell this picture is not taken under my normal photo tent that I usually use for my nail shots. I had family visiting for the holidays and the tent had to be put up. I usually have my photo tent set up in my guest room, and it was occupied with my guests. I just snapped this the old fashion way lol.

The reason I choose this color scheme is I wanted it to match with my new   Jawbone Up Fitness bracelet that I got from Kelly for Christmas. I wanted to have nails to match haha :)

The Jawbone UP is AMAZING....it tracks your sleep, activity levels, steps, food intake and on and on. It has really motivated me to get into shape for 2013. Here are some of the things it does...

YES - it does all of that.  I absolutely love it and it has not come off my
wrist since I received it. HERE is a link for the bracelet if you guys are interested in checking into it furthur.

My nails and bracelet where a perfect match and I brought in the New Year with some serious BLING. I loved this manicure so much I STILL HAVE IT ON....just the smallest amount of tip wear and no chips!!!  I can not tell you the last time I kept a polish on for this long. I have no new posts yet since it's still on LOL!!! I probably will wear it into the weekend
**** shocked gasps**** :)

Do you guys like it? I would love to hear what you guys wore to bring in the New Year, leave it in the comments below!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years!!!

O Christmas Tree - Candy Lacquer

Today I am wearing a super fun polish from Candy Lacquer. It's called O Christmas Tree..how perfect is that! Now don't look too close guys lol. I do A LOT of cooking on the day before Christmas Eve and my hands were in water and preparing food all day. I always wait til after I finish cooking to do my nails so it's when they look there worst :)

This is sooooooooo fun and festive. It really reminds me of a big ole Christmas tree. This is one coat of OPI Red with two dabbed coats of O Christmas Tree.

I did have to fish out the stars in this one and place them, but that is the same case with all star shaped glitter polishes no matter who makes them. The great part is you can leave out the star glitters if you don't like them.

I feel like I have bright Christmas lights on my fingers lol. Also, I can not stop singing the song in my head...
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Not only green when summer's here,
But also when 'tis cold and drear.
O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging!
It just keeps playing over and over in my head when I look down at my nails. How super awesome fun and festive.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Holiday. I also say a little prayer for those that are not so fortunate. I hope to be back tomorrow for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I make no promises. Similar to many of you Family will be a priority and I will post both days if I can. If I'm not back, please have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day!

Rockin around the Tree - Naild'it

I have to say this was probably the hardest manicure that I ever had to photograph. I wanted something really different, but my camera just didn't want to play too nice tonight.

This is two coats of OPI Jade is the New Black layered with one solid coat of Naild'it Rockin Around the Tree. You can find this at Naild'it's Etsy shop here. They are currently on vacation so I can not promise that this will still be offered after the Holiday. I then topped everything with Hard Candy Matte Top Coat. The polish lost it's JADE color and turned more green once I started layering it, which is exactly what I was hoping for.

It is really difficult to see in the photos, but once matted there is a gorgeous light green glitter that shines and stands out from all the darker green glitters. It is so pretty.

It came out exactly how I wanted it to.

If you have not yet tried using a matte top coat on a glitter, you are really missing out. The depth of the glitter once it is matted is amazing, and not to be missed.  If you look carefully at my pinky finger you can see the different color glitters that are hiding.  I didn't see all the amazing color shades of the glitter until I used a Matte coat.

Again, this was a really tough polish to capture, but I promise it is beautiful.  Hope you guys like this and hope anyone in the path of Draco stayed safe today. Here in Missouri we had wind gusts hitting close to 60mph. There was a white out blizzard here most of the day and the wind has been howling non stop. I'm hoping by morning it is all gone.

Thanks for visiting :)
