Born Pretty Store Review and an Awesome Halloween Tape Mani

Today I have something seriously AWESOME!!!

I have been seeing tons of manicures in the nail blog world using striping tape, and I have been really interested in getting some to experiment with. I do not do nail art, so I thought striping tape would be a fun easy way to add some excitement to my manicures.

I wasn't all too familiar with how to purchase tape, and really wasn't sure where to get it.  Many suggested purchasing on Ebay, but lots of us do not use Ebay. So, when the Born Pretty Store approached me and asked if I would like to review some of their products, I jumped at the opportunity. They allowed me to pick a product I liked, and of course I picked the striping tape!

This is what I received in my package...

First I would like to say that this package was delivered to me SUPER FAST from over-seas. I got this package quicker than I get things in the U.S. I'm still not sure how they got it to me this fast. I am very pleased with the excellent shipping. The packaging was excellent as well, everything was  nicely packed.

The package retails for $8.99 (wow, awesome price) and you receive all 12 colors.  WOW again is all I can say. The best part...FREE SHIPPING on every order. That is something I am all on board with. Sometimes shipping can kill us with ordering online. These rolls are packed with tape in every color I can think of. I was beyond impressed with this set. Here is a link to the item if you are interested in checking it out HERE. The store is loaded with awesome other nail art items for great prices as well.

You also get 10% off your order with the following Code: EPL91. I have added this to my sidebar as well for all future orders you may want to place.

Look at all the colors I received...

the 12 colors included are...Gold, Pink, White, Deep Green, Red, Deep Blue, Neon Rose, Silver, Brown, Light Blue, Green, Purple.

I was really excited and decided I was going to dive right in and do a striping manicure!!! I thought about it and had no ideas, but last week while I was lurking around the MakeupAlley Nail Board I ran into a post by nrohloff that was AMAZING, she is brilliant for this idea. I knew immediately I had to recreate it. The MUA post is HERE for you to see.

This is the Inspiration Picture...
As a kid I was obsessed with The Wizard of Oz, so I really fell in love with this idea. Thanks so much nrohloff for this wonderful idea, here is my interpretation of this ...

Review of Trelly's M.I.S.C Spiked Witch's Brew

Halloween Manicures continue... Tonight's spotlight is Trelly's M.I.S.C Spiked Witch's Brew. As many of you know that follow me, I love these polishes. They have quickly climbed to the top of my favorites in my Indie Collection. You can purchase Trelly's HERE.

Spiked Witch's Brew!

This is two coats of Model's Own Lime Green with two coats of Spiked Witch. I love how this layering combination turned out.

I am a big fan of these matte 'sand' type polishes.

The color combo in this one is WOW. Teal Green, Black, White, Yellow....a GORGEOUS MIX!!!

I did not thin this polish. I wanted to layer it thickly on my base coat. This polish is so dense it really doesn't need a base. I almost wore it alone, but loved the thought of mixing it with Lime Green.

These 'sand' type polishes tend to dry with a gritty finish. I highly recommend Nail Pattern Boldness's Glitter Food topped with Seche Vite. You can get a really smooth finish this way.

Check out this close up ... Ba-BAM lol. I love this. I'm so glad this is part of my collection. What do you guys think of this? Do you like it with the Lime Green base? Leave your thoughts below in the comments. I really enjoy reading them all.

*Spiked Witch was sent to me for my honest Review*

My party is finally over :) It was a fun day and a very very busy week with planning and prep work. This is what I wore for my party. I had a Steelers shirt on that was Grey, White, Yellow and Black and I thought this would be a cute match. I'm actually a Jets fan lol, but Kelly is a Steelers fan so sometimes I wear it for him.

Nail-Venturous Humble Bee.

I have this in the 'new' bottle style, which I am not honestly a fan of. Kind of makes it look generic in a way. Oh well, I wasn't able to nab a bottle before they changed them so I'm stuck with this one lol.

You can purchase this at Ninja Polish for those of you that like it. On to the nail pictures...

How freakin amazing is this?!!! I LOVE this. The layering combo isn't anything to call home about. My base color is Wet n Wild Black which is cheap, but effective!

These pictures where takin' late in the day - after my party. They went threw party prepping, cupcake frosting, decorating, and a ton more.  No chips, no wear marks - gotta love Wet n Wild Black for great wear (at least for me). I didn't even refresh the top coat, and it's still super shiny :)  I used one coat of NYC Grand Central Station and one coat of Seche Vite Top Coat earlier in the morning.

The pictures really speak for themselves. I'm in love with this polish. It was super easy to apply too. The only suggestion I make with this combo is make sure your Black base coat is dry and that you layer it with a top coat prior to applying Humble Bee. I got a few bald spots on my black since I didn't use a top coat to seal the black.

Do I look like a bumble Bee? Well, I'm deathly allergic to them lol but I still love this polish.

What do you guys think? Do you like this one? Do you have it on your wishlist? All I can say is it's the Bee Knees. Yup, I said it. I'm an official DORK lol :)
