Some Fun Holiday Nails :)

Press Sample (Barielle)

It's been a VERY long time since I have been here....HI :) I have truly missed the nail community and I'm wanting to come back and spend some time here on my blog and on my PolishHoochie Facebook Page. So for tonight, I did a really fun Holiday Combo to share with you all.

POLISH USED:
  • 2 Coats of Barielle - Boho Chic (Fall 2014)
  • 1 Coat of Once Upon A Time - Posion Apple (Unfortunatley Discontinued)
  • Top Coat of Northern Lights
  • Top Coat of Seche Vite
I have not done my nails for photography purposes in ages, so don't look too close, lol.  I wasn't striving for perfection, just trying to get back (SLOWLY) into the swing of things.  Perfection was never my thing anyway HAHAHA :)

(EDIT: NEW PHOTOS WERE ADDED 12/9/14)

I love how the Northern Lights Top Coat added to this mani, you can see the micro glitters it adds.  Just one picture to start (EDIT: more were added 12/9/14). I got a new MacBook Pro and so far not so good on my Photoshop playing nice with it.  Everything looks distorted, off color and blurry. The base polish is green (very dark green), and in lots of different light sources it most definitely looks black. The pic here is off (sorry). After some intense research I found out that my Photoshop does not support my new Retina Display on My Mac, and it will not work with no update offered. So, for now I had to use this pretty horrible pic lol, but the WONDERFUL hubby is running out after work today to get me the newest Photoshop :) Gotta love him!!

Better pictures coming soon (EDIT: Added 12/9/14)

Barielle Spring 2014 Vibrants Collection

Press Sample

Hi Guys,

Long time no see! I know it's been a long while since I have been here, but I kind of lost control of the daily grind that I was originally following. My schedule has recently changed and I am much more available and I want to start posting more again, so here I am :) I have swatches of the Barielle Spring 2014 Vibrants Collection...
,
PLEASE NOTE: I usually take pride in super sharp clear cuticle pics, but on these I didn't allow my camera to focus on my cuticles on purpose. They are a TRUE HOT MESS *don't look* lol. I haven't done this in awhile and need to seriously bring my cuticles back to looking good first before I attempt macro focus on them again.

TOP ROW LEFT - FIRST CLASS TICKET:  This is a really pretty sky blue color. The formula on this color is excellent and goes on very smooth and you can get away with 2 coats on this polish. No real issues with this one.

TOP ROW CENTER - MONEY TALKS: This color is a really pretty mint color. This formula was a lot more fussy for me. I did have to thin this one as well (4 drops of thinner) and it acted like your typical mint polish of streaky until coat 3. Note that the first few coats actually look matte, but gets glossy as you layer.

TOP ROW RIGHT - DESIGNER'S SHOE: This one is a gorgeous dusty purple and my favorite of the collection. It goes on pretty smooth, but I did have to thin it a bit. It takes 3 coats, but it's so worth it. I love this color and is different from all the other purples I have.

BOTTOM ROW LEFT - FIRE ME UP: This is a gorgeous Blazing Fire Orange color. The formula on this one was perfect and only takes 2 coats. NO complaints at all on this one.

BOTTOM ROW CENTER - MY CITY APARTMENT: A really pretty Grey color with Blue undertones, that I'm really loving. This formula was fussy with me as well, and I did have to thin it to cut down on the streaking. It required 3 coats, but again very worth it.

BOTTOM ROW RIGHT - TAKE ME SHOPPING: Love the name on this one lol. The formula is perfect on this color and goes on smooth and glossy. This one only requires 2 coats and it's a very pretty bright reddish pink (more on the red side).

Barielle Fall 2013 Sophisticated Lady Swatches & a Barielle Giveaway!!!

Press Sample

Here is the second Fall 2013 Bariellle collection, Sophisticated Lady. If you missed the first collection, Nude and Naughty, you can find it HERE. These polishes retail for $8.00/bottle or $25.00/5 piece box collection shown below. They can and be purchased at Barielle.com.
ALSO, don't forget to scroll to the end of the post for Giveaway details.
This is another impressive collection from the people at Barielle.  I can honestly say, when I first saw these I was not impressed. The colors seemed boring and ho hum. Once I saw how they applied and the complex colors, I changed my mind really fast!!!

LONDON HIGH TEA
This color is such a classy pink, and the bonus is that it has a hidden gold shimmer. The formula on this was excellent and brushed on flawless. This is 2 coats of polish with 1 coat HK Girl Top Coat. Need I say more?

IN GOOD TASTE
The true color of this polish is a tough one to capture on film. It's a beautiful mix of brown and olive green. I see the olive in this one, than other times I look at it and I only see the brown. It's really a complex shade, and very impressive. It's a perfect color for the fall. The formula was perfection, and it went on very easy. This is 2 coats of polish with 1 coat of HK Top Coat.

TRES CHIC
This is yet another fabulous polish in this collection. This collection will not disappoint, because it has a little of everything in it. I love the variety in this set. The best way to describe this polish is a dusty navy. It is very chic for sure, the name really nails it. This is 2 coats of polish with 1 coat of HK Girl Top Coat. Navy blue has been really hot this Fall.

DANGER AT 8
This is fast becoming my new go to red polish. The color is a perfect red. As many reds as I own, I do not have this shade of red. It's a blue based red and works really great with my pale coloring. The formula was also flawless and I couldn't ask for an easier polish to work with. This red is a dream! This is 2 coats of polish with 1 coat of HK Girl Top Coat. This is the perfect red that I will be using for the Holidays coming up.

EDGY
I saved the best for last. This is an AMAZING color. It's a wonderful mix of raisin and purple. I LOVE LOVE IT. I could not take this polish off once it was on my fingers. I see this being a staple color for me this Fall. I have only had it on for one day, and several people have already complimented me on it. It's another one of those polishes that changes with the lighting. In dark lighting it will almost look black, but in brighter light the wonderful plum raisin color emerges. I can not say enough good things about this one! If you can only pick one out of the entire collection, I highly suggest this one. I sill have it on and I will not be removing it until my weekend getaway coming up. I have to really love a polish to keep it on for 3 days lol!!

I also wanted to let you know that Barielle is having a great giveaway that will start September 12th and end on September 26th.  Don't miss out on this one guys, you can win both Fall collections with this giveaway.

A Late Labor Day Post ....Trelly's Because of the Brave

I'm extremely late on this post, I hadn't realized I didn't post it, so I'm going to share it with you tonight. This is Because of the Brave's from Trelly's M.I.S.C. I wore this for Labor day. I have it layered over Barielle's Danger at 8, which is part of their new 2013 Sophisticated Lady Fall Collection. I will have swatches of that new collection coming this week!

I really loved this combination.

The glitters in Because of the Brave are a wonderful mix of Stars, Hearts, Hex, Round and Squares. The heart glitters are a little difficult see because they are red on red, but you can see them in my first picture on my index finger.

The formula was great and easily dabbed on. Check out the large chunky hex glitters on my middle finger, ringfinger and pinky. Those are my favorite part of this polish and make it very unique from my other patriotic polishes.

I also made more jar pies, Blueberry, for Labor day. I was testing my Halloween cut outs for the top lol, so just ignore the fact they are Halloween oriented.

I got the Idea from Our Best Bites. They are so super fun to make.

Thank you for visiting and make sure you leave some love in the comments section!!!

Barielle Nude and Naughty Fall 2013 Collection Swatches

Press Sample

Today I'm excited to show you guys this new collection from Barielle. It's the Nude and Naughty collection. These polishes retail for $8.00/bottle or $25.00 for the entire box collection shown below.

I usually do not wear nude nail polishes, they never interested me in the past. Today, Barielle has converted me for good!! At first glance I just assumed this was just another boring set of nudes. WOW, was I wrong.  Never judge a polish that way, I should know better. As I swatched these, I was more and more impressed as I went along. I'm totally in love with this collection now!

This is a very very pale nude color. I consider myself super pale and it was even lighter than my skin tone. What I love about this shade is it made me look like I have a tan! This one is coming away with me on my birthday weekend getaway next week at or Lake Condo.

This is 3 coats. The formula was a tad bit thick for me. It reminded me of a 'white' polish formula (that tend to be thicker), but it did level out in coat 3

This is slightly darker than Very Bare, and is also a super beautiful nude. This color complimented my natural skin tone. I love this color and it made my hands look beautiful.

This is 3 coats and the formula on this was the same as Very Bare, slightly thicker, but levels well on the 3rd coat. If I had to wear just nudes for work, this would become a staple for me.

I'm loving this next color. My husband may not like the name (lol), but I like it!!!This is not your ordinary nude. It has a beautiful subtle shimmer as well.

It has a yummy carmel color for the Fall. The formula on this one was excellent. It was a flawless application and covered in 2 coats.

Look at that gorgeous subtle shimmer (above).

This polish is STUNNING!!! If you can only purchase one of the set, this should be it. It's jaw dropping!

Can you see the gold shimmer hidden in this. WOW!!! This is 2 coats and the formula is perfect and pretty much applies itself!

This polish is fabulous so make sure you don't pass this one up. The gold flash is gorgeous and easily seen on the nail in all lighting conditions. Again, if I was forced to wear nudes for work (where many of us are), I would not be wthout this.

This one is my favorite of the collection. The color on this is so complex. It's a wonderful mix between brown and olive green. I see olive green in it!!! I know yo can see it too!

This formula was also flawless, and this is 3 coats. It's gets a deep brown in darker lighting (below)..

This is the PERFECT Fall color and I will have a hard time taking this one off.  Now in brighter light look how it turns more Olive (below)...

Overall this collection is a MUST for Nude lovers. I don't have anything negative to say about this set, and this is from a person that dislikes nudes  That says a lot right there.

You can purchase these on the BARIELLE WEBSITE as of September, 1 2013
