Born Pretty Store Stud Manicure!

Press Sample Purchased by Me

I been seeing a lot of stud manicures around lately, so tonight I decided to attempt one myself. This is what I came up with. Now, this is by no means perfect, but it sure was fun!

Here are the polishes I used...

L to R - Orly Shine, Manglaze Matte is Murder, Manglaze Mayo, Zoya Pixiedust Solange.

(The Manglaze and Orly polishes were purchased by me.)

The studs are from an amazing set available at The Born Pretty Store.

The set includes nail glue, 2 wheels of studs, 1 wheel of rhinestones and a package of several orange sticks. This entire set retails for $12.99 USD!! What an amazing price.

Please note: I did not use the nail glue for my manicure, unfortunately in my attempt to use it the bottle spilled and there was nothing left of it. Instead, I placed my studs into my polish while it was still wet and everything nicely stuck in place.

The stud surfaces are usually shiny, but I wanted a matte finish for everything, so I topped everything off with China Glaze's Matte Magic. I love how the studs mattified!

The variety of shapes and sizes included in this set are pretty mind blowing. There is so much to choose from. I just scratched the surface with a few in my manicure. The set also includes diamond, rectangle and star shapes as well. There is a great mix of gold and silver and the rhinestones come in fun color.

You can let your creativity go wild with this set. I highly recommend owning this if you are into nail art.

Stamping Plates anyone?...

Purchased by Me

Tonight I'm going to show you my some of my stamping plates. I finally took the leap and purchased all the Bundle Monster Plates. Currently there are 3 sets with Bundle Monster: 2010, 2011, and 2012.

I did not photograph all 71 plates since the pictures would make this the longest blog post ever lol. If you would like a closer look at the sets, just click the links above, and you will be taken to the Bundle Monster website to have a closer look.

I also purchased the Bundle Monster stamping plate holder. I really hadn't see this on many posts, so I took a chance with this item. I figured otherwise, trying to find a home for all these new plates would be a challange.

I LOVE THE HOLDER. This is the smartest thing ever created for stampers.

Each page hold 12 plates, (6 plates on each side), and the holder has 14 pages.  That is a lot of plate storage.

I purchased two of these.

I have my Bundle Monster Plates in one holder and my Winstonia Plates/Konad Plates in another. That allows plenty of room to expand in the future with all the empty pages I have. These holders retail on Bundle Monster for $14.99 USD, and can be found >HERE<. The Bundle Monster site describes the holder as: a modern shiny vinyl, faux-croc skin textured outter cover with a soft velvet-like lining.

The holders are so soft and pliable. I love these holders and I can not rave about them enough. My plates are so organized and easy to find now. I highly recommend these.

I also purchased the new Winstonia Plate set. This set is brand new, and I was happy to be able to order it with a discount coupon.

This set retails for $15.99 USD on Winstonia's Web site >HERE<. They offer a lot of discount codes, so if you follow them on Facebook you won't miss out on any of the available sale codes.

I now have Bundle Monster, Winstonia and Konad plates. Here is a picture of a plate from each of the sets.

As you can see above, the whole nail images on the Bundle Monster 2010 plates are very tiny, and Bundle Monster increased the size with later plates. The Konad full nail stamps are also smaller.  Knowing the different sizes really helped me when I was purchasing. Be aware of the image sizes when purchasing.

I still have a lot of practice to go on this stamping thing. It does take some practice for sure. I did use my BM's plates on part of my recent Syracuse Nails >HERE<. Stay tuned for more stamping projects!

Autism Awareness ...

Purchased by Me

April is Autism Awareness Month, so I will be doing a manicure for Autism Awareness for today and blue manicures for the remainder of April.

For a long time, many people didn't even know what Autism was, so awareness is the first step. I myself do not have anyone in my family that has Autism, but I have friends that have Autistic children, so I wanted to join in to help spread awareness.

I followed this video tutorial on Youtube that can be found HERE. I have to say I enjoyed doing these so much. They are time consuming, but so worth it in the end. I'll be wearing these to work tomorrow as well.

Colors I used:

China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky (Yellow)
Sation - Board Girl Blue (Dark Blue)
Sation - Hot 4 Teacher (Red)
Sation - Jock Juggler (Light Blue)

I used regular Scotch tape for making my squares, and a dotting tool to make the circles.

My regular readers also know how obsessed I am with Matte Top Coat, so of course I used that to finish things off.

Hope you like these :) How many of you will be joining in the Blue Manicures for April. Love to hear your comments :)

Cirque de Soleil Nails!

I'm so excited about tonight nails. I have been sick for several weeks, and I am finally feeling better. To celebrate Kelly got us Cirque de Soleil tickets!!! We are going to see Quidam. We really didn't get to go out for Valentine's Day - so this is just perfect.

Well soon as I found out, I went a searching online to see what the theme of our show would be. I found this picture that I used for inspiration.

I wasn't sure which direction to go, as I seriously stink at nail art lol.  In the picture above is Target, one of the main characters. If you look closely at his outfit it is white and teal with red accents. I came up with this ...

The Base color is ManGlaze Mayo and Sally's Insta-Dri Sea Breaze. I used scotch tape to do the checkered pattern. The lines are nothing to brag about, but I'm happy with it :)

This is the top I'm wearing, so I figured the nails would be perfect for that. I was going for a circus look.

FUN FUN!!! I can not wait to go now lol.

Thanks for visiting guys!

Hello Kitty Fauxnad plates and Nail Art Supplies Haul!

My Hello Kitty Fauxnad Stamping Plates have finally arrived - yippee! Thanks to the lovely rmccandlelight (for providing the site to order these from) I now have my plates!!!

The above plates come in a set of all 6.  The website where these can be ordered is:

The Price is so reasonable as well and since I was ordering these I decided to get some other nail art supplies as well.  Everything was so cheap :)
Here are the other things I ordered as well.

These are oval shaped gems and I always think these are perfect for highlighting and creating flowers. So many colors as well!

Traditional Round Rhinestones

A Larger sized Round Rhinestone

Random Fun Shapes (half pieces so they lay flat)

Pearls in silver and gold (these are extra tiny but would work awesome for detailed nail work)

And Rhinestone Stars (my Favorite type of rhinestone)

Remember you can click on any of the pictures above to get a closer look! I hope you enjoyed this type of post.  I usually do not do Haul pictures, but I was so excited about these I couldn't help not to lol.

I leave for vacation in 2 days so I will try squeezing in pictures of these items in use before I take off.  I will do my best.

Thanks for visiting today!

EDITED: the pictures do not do these rhinestones justice they sparkle sooo MUCH and that's always an issue for me when I buy them elsewhere. They are usually real poor quailty and flat looking, but these are really great and sparkle so much!
