Thanksgiving with Tom Turkey!!

Tonight I have a super cute polish on for Thanksgiving! This is Tom Turkey by Trelly's MISC. How cute is that name??? eppps :)

I purchased this polish last year, but I never got to wear it. I'm usually not a fan of having a glitter nail polish on my nails while cooking. I always remove all nail polish of any kind when I cook. The thought of chipped off nail polish in my food freaks me out lol. Yes, you heard me right. In my house I cook dinner most nights, so polish application always go on AFTER I make dinner. For those that follow me you know my posts are late night, and now you now why.

This year I am visiting family that is out of state for Thanksgiving and I do not have to cook, so that means I can wear polish for Thanksgiving Day for a change - HAPPY DANCE!!!! lol. The first polish that came to mind was this one. I layered it over China Glaze Mahogany Magic. It's a brown I would not wear on it's own, but topped with Tom Turkey it's wonderful.

This combination came out even better than I expected. My nails are on the nubbins side. I have not taken the best care of them over the last 2 weeks, but I'm starting to baby them again so they should grow longer soon!

I really do love this. These are the perfect Thanksgiving Day colors.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope for those that celebrate, you have a wonderful Thanksgiving from my family to yours.

Candy Corn Flowers?

Tonight I have a super amazing polish from Candy Lacquer. This one is Candy Corn FLOWERS :)

It has super fun Flower shaped glitters in it, which I love. I did not individually place the glitters either. This is just how they brushed on! This was a super amazing formula. I layered it over Manglaze Matte is Murder.

I got on a Mate kick this week and applied it to this polish as well. The shiny top coat version was just not making me happy lol. I used Hard Candy Matte top coat, one of my favorites but unfortunately discontinued. I hope to never run out of it lol.
Please excuse the Horrible condition of my hands tonight. The hubby and I did some SERIOUS brush clearing in our backyard (the weather has been so nice) and I beat up my poor hands. An area we have been meaning to clear for ages now. I think after the Halloween Swatch-a-thon is over I'm going to have to rest my fingers hahaha :)

This is 2 coats of Matte is Murder covered with 2 dabbed on coats of CCF, topped off with a Matte Top Coat. This always happens with Matte Top Coat with me. I don't touch it for long periods of times, and then when I do I can not stop using it. It's almost Halloween here, but have no fear. I will have one more Halloween Polish up tomorrow evening before my Halloween Swatch-a-Thon ends. I hope all you trick-or-treaters out there stay safe and have a blast collecting candy. I'm looking forward to my trick-or-treaters...Candy Treat Bags are stuffed filled with fun toys and candies!

A little matte :)

Tonight I have a fun polish to share with all of you. This is a polish that is just a perfect addition to my Halloween Swatch-a-thon.

This is 2 coats of Matte is Murder by Manglaze, with Rainbow Polish's Pumpkin Smashing layered over it. At first glance I disliked it (with the shiny top coat) Sorry I didn't take a picture with the shiny top coat. After staring at it for a certain period of time, I realized I could use a Matte top coat. I'm usually the QUEEN of Matte polish,  so it shocked me to think it's been well over a year maybe since I used a matte top coat last.

I'm in love with how this combo came out! Matte Top coat is a great way to really change things up.

I hope you all liked this one. It really made me feel in the spirit of Halloween!!!

It's Spooky up in here!!! Witch's Brew

I have a super fun polish for you guys tonight. This polish was originally from 2ChixLacquer (now: Liquid Lacquer). It is called Witch's Brew and so far this is my favorite of all of my Halloween Swatches.

The base polish is 2 coats of BB Couture's Joker, my go to purple for Halloween time. It's a gorgeous purple with a blue shimmer. I than layered on the Witch's Brew ...dabbed on like I do most of my glitter top coats.

I LOVE IT!!! I have received so many compliments on this look. This has a perfect mix of glitters. My favorite part of this polish is the micro fine silver glitters. It brings such a stunning shine to the whole combination. I hope you guys like this one as much as I do! What are your thoughts on this one? Leave your comments below. Thank for visiting!!!

Dollish Polish ... This is Halloween!

Today I'm going to be showing you a NEW favorite in my collection (well prior to today I hadn't used it, but today it pushed a ton of other polishes out of the way and went straight to the head of  the line).

GAHHH...how awesome is this??!! At first I thought I could wear this alone and build it up to an opaque color, but it just didn't work out that way. If you did that it would be really lumpy and bumpy. I decided to layer mine over China Glaze's Tree Hugger.

It's really simple fine glitters, but I just loved the way it looked. The gorgeous gold really makes it stand out a lot.

I even made a short spotlight video showing the polish in action!

This was so spectacular I needed to do a spotlight video on it! Check out the way it sparkles as I move my hand around in the light. GORGEOUS!!!

Thanks for watching and thanks for joining in on this months Spooky Hoochie Halloween Swatch-a-thon!!!

Hare The Monster!!!

Tonight I have The Monster by Hare. This is one of those polish that took stalking the restock to get. It was sold out literally in seconds off the Hare shop restock sale (last year) for me to get it, and I'm still shocked I was able to grab it in time.

I know that showing polishes you can no longer get upset some people, but than I wouldn't have anything to swatch here lol.  A lot of my collection is HTF's (especially in the indie brands I own), and I hope you enjoy me sharing them with you.

I'm not sure if this is a Halloween polish per say, but it does remind me of Frankenstein when I see it. I figured it would fit right in with other Halloween polishes. It's a very dusty teal color with very small black and blue/green iridescent glitters. the glitters are sand like.

Lately this has been my new favorite color. The whole Minty color thing. It's an older trend, but I'm still loving and it still works for me!

I was disappointed some with this polish when I first applied it because I thought this wouldn't need a base color. I tried to build it up to opaque in 3 coats...it wasn't bad and you could get away doing that, but it was too 'lumpy' for me. In the end I just decided to layer it over Essie's Greenport.

I have 2 coats of Essie Greenport with 2 coats of The Monster on top of that.  It's slightly gritty, so I suggest you use a regular top coat with one layer of Seche Vite over everything. That should smooth things it right out.

I'm loving this!. Do any of you own this one? What are your thoughts. Leave your comments below, I would love to hear what you guys think of this one.

Spooky Hoochie Halloween Swatch-a-thon continues...Trelly's Witches in the Sky

The last post I showed you all was a polish that was HTF (I know I know, people hate that), but tonight I have something you CAN find!

This is an AMMMMMMAZZZING polish. I layered it over Manglaze's Butt Taco (lol...always love saying that haha!).

I bet this would look CRAZY BEAUTIFUL with a Matte Top Coat. Of course my favorite part is the Moon Glitters (see pinky nail above). FUN FUN FUN.

Now you can see why Trelly's is one of my favorite brands of my collection!!

A Late Labor Day Post ....Trelly's Because of the Brave

I'm extremely late on this post, I hadn't realized I didn't post it, so I'm going to share it with you tonight. This is Because of the Brave's from Trelly's M.I.S.C. I wore this for Labor day. I have it layered over Barielle's Danger at 8, which is part of their new 2013 Sophisticated Lady Fall Collection. I will have swatches of that new collection coming this week!

I really loved this combination.

The glitters in Because of the Brave are a wonderful mix of Stars, Hearts, Hex, Round and Squares. The heart glitters are a little difficult see because they are red on red, but you can see them in my first picture on my index finger.

The formula was great and easily dabbed on. Check out the large chunky hex glitters on my middle finger, ringfinger and pinky. Those are my favorite part of this polish and make it very unique from my other patriotic polishes.

I also made more jar pies, Blueberry, for Labor day. I was testing my Halloween cut outs for the top lol, so just ignore the fact they are Halloween oriented.

I got the Idea from Our Best Bites. They are so super fun to make.

Thank you for visiting and make sure you leave some love in the comments section!!!

Fanchormtic Nail Swatches

Press Sample (Fanchromatic Nails)
Purchased by Me (Models Own and Sation)

Today I have three awesome polishes from Fanchromatic Nails.

This is two coats of Raptor Girl on it's on, no base color needed for this one. To me, this reminds me of a fish tank lol. I loved this one and the formula was wonderful.  It brushed on beautifully and I had no issues with it at all. .

The next color is a really pretty Pink/Lavender polish with a Lavender and Gold shimmer. Gorgeou!!.

You can see the micro glitter Gold shimmer really well in this picture. I did have to layer this over a base coat and I used Sation Lilac That, which was a perfect match for this.

This is a medium shade of Grey with Silver, Light Blue, and Dark Blue Glitters.  I love the mix of glitters in this. It's very subtle and very pretty.

I did have to layer this over a Grey base of Models Own Grey Day. This was a los a perfect match for this polish.

Over all I had no issues with any of the formulas. I didn't have to use thinner on anything and they played very nicely with the base colors.

If you would like to Purchase for Fanchromtics you can visit their Etsy Shop.
You can also visit Fanchromatics on Facebook.

Press Sample

Tonight I have a new 'to me' Indie polish by Fanchro-matic Nails. The  polish I'm showing you tonight is called Into the Black. This polish is expected to release on August 16th, 2013.

It's best described as a black polish with slight blue undertones, with a beautiful silvery shimmer. Need I say more?! These pictures say it all...

WOW this is just straight up off the chain gorgeous!!!! This is my new favorite black polish for sure. The formula was perfect and brushed on flawlessly. Once I added a shiny top coat the polish just exploded with greatness!

This is 2 coats of Into the Black with a top coat of HK Girl. I love the shimmer in this, it really is jaw dropping.

How fun is that label too?

If you are looking for a fun black polish for Fall (and even Halloween) and you don't want just the same ole basic black, this is perfect!!

You can find info on Fanchro-matic Nails on their Facebook page HERE. All release and shop details can be found there.

Trelly's M.I.S.C. Flamingos in the Pool swatch

Press Sample  - Trelly's M.I.S.C
Purchased by Me  - Sation

Just a real quick post tonight. I decided to try out Trelly's M.I.S.C. Flamingos in the Pool. It's a bright pink that leans on the fluorescent side. I layered this over 2 coats of Sation's Beyond the Bubblegum Pink.

It makes me think of the cheesy plastic flamingos that people put in their yards for lawn decorations... hahah.

(above photo courtesy of www.plasticyardflamingo.com lol - not kidding on that website name)

Super fun and bright. I really had fun with this one. The formula was great, I didn't thin it and I brushed and dabbed it on. The stars came out on there own, no having to place them.

If you want to check out more of Cassie's amazing creation, you can track her down on Facebook HERE. She always lists dates with restock information for her Etsy store.

Thanks for visiting!!

14 Carrots Whimsical Ideas by Pam manicure

This is my first Whimsical ideas by Pam polish, 14 Carrots. I have a our family picnic to attend tomorrow, (we have it once a year), and I wanted something bright and fun. This polish fit the bill perfect.

I'm so pleased how this came out. I layered it over Wet n Wild Sunnyside.

Just note that Sunnyside is more yellow toned and once you layer the 14 Carrots over it, It darkens the color to what you see here. I loved the combination so much.

Orange is one of my favorite colors, so when I saw this polish I had to own it. You can only order these polishes on Facebook. Visit the Whimsical Ideas by Pam's Facebook Page and you can email your order to Pam.

The glitters in this are very simple, just one small hex and small micro glitters, but they really pack a punch for me.

It's gorgeous and simple, but bright and wild lol. Just like me:)

I was super pleased with the consistency. Not gloppy or thick at all. It was easy to brush and dab on. I have a few more of her's that I have ordered, and I'm now anxious to use them. I will have to order more now as well.  There are several I have my eye on.

Thanks for visiting and have a lovely weekend.

Candy Lacquer Spring Fever ...In Summer :)

Purchased by Me

I have had this polish sitting around in my collection since the Spring, and before Fall starts, I wanted to use it. I can get away using it in the Summer, but I don't think it would work well with the Fall so much.

I paired Spring Fever with Sation's Loudest Color. I wanted bright and wild. I think I achieved that exact thing...

Loudest color is a fabulous neon yellowish greenish polish (yes, adding 'ish' to the end of a word makes a real word, I promise lol). It leans more towards green(ish). I did have to do 3 coats of it to get it opaque, so use thin thin layers if you decide to duplicate this look.

I knew the combo would be great.

I know I know, It is WAY past Spring time lol, but better late than never :)  I figured before it's Fall - I would get it done!

I love how the large purple dot glitters and pink butterfly glitters complement the neon. This one is not for the faint of heart.

Thanks for visiting guys, and stay tuned. I have a bunch of giveaways coming up so make sure you are subscribed to ThePolishHoochie Facebook Page to participate.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Trelly's M.I.S.C. Flip Flops and Tank Tops Swatches

Press Sample

This polish is from Trelly's M.I.S.C. and is part of her Summer collection for 2013. Before the Fall gets here (lol), as it seems to be approaching FAST, I am trying to get my Summer polishes (and some Spring polishes) swatched for the month of August.  I'm hoping to do as many as I can.

This one is SPECTACULAR.

FLIP FLOP & TANK TOPS

I decided to pair this with black. The base color is 2 coats of Wet n Wild Black. I wanted the neon colors to really pop, and against the black they look fabulous and really come to life.

I didn't place any glitters on this one, just brushed and dabbed it on as I do most of my glitter bombs.

Trelly's M.I.S.C is definitely one of my top favorite Indie Polishes (outside of Candy Lacquer). Cassie comes up with the best glitter shapes and color combos! I just love her style. Sometimes I feel like she makes these polishes just for me (hehehe) :)

This polish has a nice hidden surprise too. Look at the amazing micro glitters in it. It adds so much texture to my plain creme black nail polish base. Here is a close up (below).

If you haven't tried her polishes yet, you are missing out. You can check Cassie out on her Facebook page HERE. This is where you can find the latest info on new releases and Her Etsy Shop sale times.
