Some Lucky Charms!!!

Press Sample

Tonight I have a super fun polish for you guys. This is Hearts Stars and Horsehoes by Trelly's M.I.S.C. This is part of her Lucky Charms duo. You have to love a polish named after Lucky Charms!

I layered the polish over 2 coats of Zoya Odette, which is a grogeous pale dusty purple. I LOVE this color and it was a perfect match for HSH's.

I did have a little shrinkage (when the polish pulls away from the tip of the nail) from my top coat Seche Vite, but that was my own fault. I have not used my SV for ages and I should have thinned it, but forgot to. The result of forgetting to thin it = The not so lovely worn tip look lol.

HSH's has some really amazing glitters in it. As you can see above, it has hearts, stars and horseshoes (half moons). I did not 'place' any of these glitters, this is just how I dabbed it on. I use a dabbing motion instead of brushing it on like regular polish because I get a better distribution of the glitters.I also do not like to place glitters, it always looks so much nicer when I let them just be.

The colors in this are beautiful and really work well together. Sometimes, when you mix a lot of colors in one polish it can get too busy looking, and I do not think this one does at all. I also really love the pops of bright yellow. The bright yellow really adds a lot to this.

Tonight is my Hubby's birthday, so this was so perfect. He loves purple and this glitter topper really added that perfect touch. Off to dinner we go to celebrate! Thanks for visiting and stay tuned for part two of the Lucky Charms Duo coming soon.

From the long lost archives of Halloween? Bitches Brew

Hi Guys,

I'm slowly working on getting more posts and activity up and going here at the PolishHoochie. As I was cleaning out my files on my PC, I came across these pictures that I took with the intentions of posting them for my Halloween Swatch-a-thon from 2013. Some how these photos didn't make it in, well I could not let them go to waste ...So here they are!

I was lucky enough to win this polish from the Lovely SassyPaints2012 actually in 2012 lol. I was so thrilled to win it because I had missed it for Sale from Nail Pattern Boldness when it was offered (not knowing it would be sold again in 2013). SassyPaints has since become a really good friend and trusted friend of mine - LOVE HER. I waited it seems like forever to finally use it, so these pictures needed to go up!

The glitters in this are out of this world. You guys all know the glitter Hoochie I am :) The base color is Tardy Tart by Sation. Sation polishes are fast becoming my favorite polishes as a base for under all my glitter polishes, and the fact that they are really inexpensive and of great quality makes it even better.

And of course I had to bust out the Matte Top Coat.

If you have not used a matte top coat on a glitter before, you are really missing out. Matte top coat and glitter nail polishes are meant to be together :)

Love this combo so much, and I hope you guys do too! Thank you for visiting.

Zoya ZENITH Holiday 2013 Collection swatches

Long time no see :) Tonight I wanted to share some swatches from the Zoya Holiday collection for this year. This is the ZENITH COLLECTION.

There are some real beauties in this collection for Winter 2013. I am really pleased how this collection turned out.

Starting at the top left we have Seraphina. This is a full coverage Metallic Silver and I just love the formula on this polish. Sometimes Metallic polishes are difficult to apply, but this one just glided on in 2 coats. I really love the thought of wearing this one for the New Year.

Next, is the top center polish, Mosheen. I layered this over Jock Juggler from Sation. Mosheen is a bar glitter top coat. The bar shaped are very very small so I think even you bar glitter haters out there will like this one. It reminds me more of crushed irregular shards, but upon closer inspection they are bar shaped. It a beautiful iridescent color. For whatever reason it reminds me of sparkly winter snow!

On the Top Right is Dream. This one reminds me of Starry Starry night. It's a beautiful deep blue and has Holographic glitters in it. I will say even though it does not show up as Holographic on the nail as much as the bottle, it is still GORGEOUS. In the right lighting the scattered Holo look does becomes slightly apparent.

On the Bottom left is Payton. This polish is a very pretty deep wine color. I felt like I was applying a Jelly with mixed in glitters. Can you say no to that? lol.

The bottom center is Belinda. This is a purple lovers DREAM!!!! It is so pretty and intense. It has a blue base and the blue shows well in most lighting. This is by far my favorite of the collection.

Finally, the bottom right is Cassedy. This is a gorgeous silver green. Yes, I said green. It has flashes of olive green, but still has that beautiful gun metal look to it. It's a really unique color to my collection. I see myself wearing this shade a lot.

Thanks for visiting and enjoy! These polishes are available at Zoya.com

Thanksgiving with Tom Turkey!!

Tonight I have a super cute polish on for Thanksgiving! This is Tom Turkey by Trelly's MISC. How cute is that name??? eppps :)

I purchased this polish last year, but I never got to wear it. I'm usually not a fan of having a glitter nail polish on my nails while cooking. I always remove all nail polish of any kind when I cook. The thought of chipped off nail polish in my food freaks me out lol. Yes, you heard me right. In my house I cook dinner most nights, so polish application always go on AFTER I make dinner. For those that follow me you know my posts are late night, and now you now why.

This year I am visiting family that is out of state for Thanksgiving and I do not have to cook, so that means I can wear polish for Thanksgiving Day for a change - HAPPY DANCE!!!! lol. The first polish that came to mind was this one. I layered it over China Glaze Mahogany Magic. It's a brown I would not wear on it's own, but topped with Tom Turkey it's wonderful.

This combination came out even better than I expected. My nails are on the nubbins side. I have not taken the best care of them over the last 2 weeks, but I'm starting to baby them again so they should grow longer soon!

I really do love this. These are the perfect Thanksgiving Day colors.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope for those that celebrate, you have a wonderful Thanksgiving from my family to yours.
