Indie Spotlight: Naild'it New Releases...

I am super excited to share two new polishes with you guys today. Andrea over at Naild'it sent me the following polishes to check out.  These polishes are the newest in her lineup....

CHA CHA CHECKMATE & PURPLE PEOPLE TEASER
Seriously, how adorable are those names?!

First up we have Cha Cha Checkmate (I love saying that lol).

I wore this on it's own, 3 coats with SV top coat.

Turns out, this is an awesome instant jelly sandwich!!! The color on this is a slightly brighter pink than my pictures are showing. It is not a neon, but very bright! Consider it Barbie Doll polish on steroids.

The formula on this was great. I did have to thin it a bit, but that is just my preference. Everyone likes their polishes a certain way, and I love that with a bit of thinner I can customize it to my needs. Also, The square glitters are flat flat flat!!! There is no bending glitter what so ever in this polish. I also did not have to fish for the glitters. They easily surfaced and stuck to the the brush with a stir or two.

I decided to Matte top coat this one (surprise - surprise). This is where I had a small heart attack of joy lol. Look how beautiful this is!!

This picture does not do it justice. It is beyond outrageous once I added the Matte top coat.

I LOVE this polish. I will be wearing this for as long as I can, as I refuse to take it off lol.  This is a definite polish to have in your collection if you like pinks. It's very different than any other pink I own.

Next up, is Purple People Teaser. All I can think of is the Purple People Eater song when I see this polish.  Do you remember that song? hehehe.

Do you see what I see? Yes, Holo Glitter!!! I almost fainted some when I took a closer look. This is three coats on it's on, also no added base color here with SV top coat.

A lot of times we will see holo glitter present in a polish, but once on the nail it's just not visible which is very frustrating. This is NOT the case here.

IRL it is very visible indoors and in sunlight.

I couldn't stop staring at this. Please be aware that this polish does have a 'frosty' look to it, which I normally do not like. Regardless, I ended up loving this with the combination of the beautiful pale purple color, shredded glitters and the holo glitter. I plain out fell in love with this polish.

As you can see I did not Matte top coat Purple People Eater. Just from past experience, these type of polishes do not play well with Matte top coat. The best thing to do is swatch it on a nail wheel or nail spoon, and test it with the Matte top coat before proceeding. This way you do not ruin your whole manicure.

What do you guys think? Do you LOVE or HATE these? You can purchase these both over at the Naild'it Etsy store HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting and sharing in my excitement over these polishes today.

*these polishes where sent to me for review*

Indie Spotlight: Olympic Mani #2 Dollish Polish It's Me Mario

I have another Olympic Mani for you guys today. I received my Dollish Polish order yesterday. I had to wake up at 3:30AM in the morning to get in on the order, but it was so worth it!  I never get up that early for anything - except polish lol :) This is part of The Mario Brothers Collection. I was such a Nintendo freak when I was younger, and played Mario for more hours than I can count. I had to have this!

This is Dollish Polish It's Me Mario layered over Nicole by OPI In Your Hands. I found In Your Hands a few years back in the clearance section of TJ Maxx. It's a deep Blue jelly - yes, a Jelly! I thought it was the perfect base for Dollish Polish's It's Me Mario.

When I saw that this had red and blue glitter with silver stars, it made me think of team USA (sorry Mario - lol).

This is such an exciting polish. I did have to place the stars, but there are plenty in there so they surface quite easily. A little stirring, and stars stick to the brush. No real 'fishing' for them. The formula is smooth and easily applies.

Then I added a Matte top coat

GO TEAM USA!!!!

What do you guys think of this one. I love it.

As mentioned above I got the whole Dollish Polish Mario Collection, stay tuned and I will swatch them all soon as I am able to.

Indie Spotlight: Naild'it Olympic Rings

Today is the big day for those of us that enjoy watching the Olympics. I love watching the games and experiencing the thrill that so many wonderful talented young adults experience reaching their life long dreams, so very exciting! I love to watch the swimming and gymnastics most.

Today I did an Olympic manicure. I ordered this from Naild'it on her Etsy site the same time I ordered the Summer Lovin Collection which you can see by clicking Here

This polish is in a clear base, and I layered if over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. I love that name! I'm a big Spiderman freak. I originally passed this polish up and this post Here inspired me to run out and buy it. It's a wonderful white polish with a touch of grey. You can even see that in my pictures below. This is my new favorite white polish and it gave me 1/2 the headaches that most my other whites are during application. I made my accent nail black (Illamasque Black - my Favorite black) to show off the white bar glitters on that nail.

Here is Olympic Rings....

I love it it. I'm horrible at nail art, and this makes me feel like I can have a 'themed' manicure too.

Then, of course I added Hard Candy Matte top coat lol. I love this stuff.

This came out perfect and I will be sporting these while watching the opening ceremonies (on TV of course lol).

Will you be watching the Olympics? If so, what are your favorite things to watch during the games? I would love to hear from you guys!

I did swatches with both SV top coat and with a Hard Candy matte top coat. I am loving the Indie polishes once mattified!

Polishing late night = Hot Mess Fail (Indie spotlight in disguise)

Today I wanted to try out my new China Glaze Desert Sun polish from the new Safari collection. I was thinking about Fall manicure ideas (hoping that the thoughts of Fall will stop this insane never ending heat wave we are having in the Mid-West).

I applied this late last night. I have not been feeling well, and I think I was half asleep. Polishing late at night = a HOT MESS FAIL lol!

I have been doing a lot of Indie Spotlights and was wanting to do something PLAIN *holds back the urges of smoothering this with glitter*.

Blah - never going to apply a creme in a rush late at night anymore. This is what happens when you do...

My middle finger is lumpy looking and my free edges look a mess, but nail polish is not always so perfect so I decided to post the pics anyway. The polish itself was a beautiful formula and very easy to apply and this color is so cool. It's hard to explain it, but it definitely screams Fall to me.

Since I hated my application on this one, I decided to cover it up with glitter *breaks down so easily* lol. I decided on KB Shimmer's Orange Pop.

This manicure went through a lot of phases ...

Rocking the Matte with the Party Rockin

(EDIT/UPDATE: I added the below pic after the original post - Hope that's okay guys!)

ORIGINAL POST BELOW

As usual, I could not help myself lol, and I added matte top coat to my last mani of Lush Lacquer Party Rockin. You can see the original mani here

I think glitters looks awesome with an added matte top coat.

I think this is GORGEOUS!!!

Party Rockin is now a permanent member of my top 5! Did you guys like it better with our without the matte top coat?I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for visiting!!!

Indie Spotlight: Lush Lacquer Party Rockin!

I know, I know, I can hear you guys now, 'another indie polish'. Yes!!! I'm currently obsessed with them at the moment lol. At first I just thought they all looked like bad glitter bombs, and after I tried them - I WAS HOOKED hahaha.

I have been so excited about receiving this! Unfortunately my first bottle came broken :( and I finally received my replacement bottle this weekend *happy dance*! This is Lush Lacquer's Party Rockin. This is a gorgeous glitter packed polish in a very light blue tint clear coat. For today I layered if over American Apparel Peacock.

Did I mention this polish is gorgeous?!!! My camera struggled getting a good picture because this is glitter on steroids LOL! This is probably the most glitter packed polish that I own, and really love it.  If you are wanting to order a Lush Lacquer polish and can't decide which polish to start with - this is it!

With one coat of SV this is smooth as glass, you wouldn't think so with so much glitter packed in this polish. This can also be worn over basically any color base color. I almost ordered this in a mini and now so glad I got the full size bottle  - I need to try this over EVERY color lol :)

What do you guys think of this one? Let me know. Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you all are having a happy weekend.

Freeman - #2 Goji Berry Hydration Mask

It's been several days since my last post, so I wanted you guys to know I was still here and still alive lol! My new job has been great, but it does seem to make me tired a lot. I have worked much longer hours and did much more strenuous work before in the past, so I'm not sure why I feel so tired?? Maybe old age? lol :)

On to today's post. I have another installment of my Freeman Mask Series.  I once again was back to having my face and skin feel dry! Especially feeling tired and stressed made it even worse.

I went to my handy dandy (that's right I said handy dandy LOL) stash of masks and I pulled out this beauty....

The Freeman Goji Berry Hydration mask. The word 'hydration' was just calling out to me. The consistency of this mask was very pleasant, smooth (no scrubbing crystals apparent in this formula).

The formula appears white, but it is actually clear once applied to the skin. It feels really awesome once it's on. The first thing I noticed was a nice cooling sensation on the skin. The directions say to leave it on 10-15 minutes. It dries on the skin flexible and does not harden like a typical mud type mask. You will hardly even notice it is on the skin during the drying time. The smell is a really pleasant scent of berries. This is probably my favorite scent on a mask so far. I rinsed this off after 15 minutes and WOW, my skin felt so smooth and soft and VERY hydrated. This mask is amazing. This is the exact type of mask I have been seeking for my dry skin situation this summer. This will be a HG staple on a go forward for me, I loved it that much lol. I plan on grabbing a handful of these next time I am at the Drug Store.

If you are suffering from dry summer skin like me, grab one of these and you will be thrilled at the results.

BONUS SHOT:

This is how I store my face masks. My fancy and elaborate set up (chepo Dollar Store plastic shoe bin lol).

I can read the labels easily and it makes it simple to flip through them when I'm deciding what to use.

Stay tuned for more mask updates. As you can see above, I have several left to use. Please make sure you check my labels in the left side bar for past reviews.

Thanks for visiting!!

Indie Spotlight: Nerd Lacquer Warrior Ethos

I hope everyone is having a great and wonderful week so far.  I've been kinda on the tired side adjusting to my new work schedule, but I do  love my new job.

For those that read my original post on my first day of work nails, I am pleased to announce that I can pretty much whatever I want at work. I'm so happy about that. I do really feel for those of you that are not allowed to wear polish at work. I'm not sure I could stay there if I wasn't allowed to use polish LOL.

On to today's nails...

I'm wearing Nerd Lacquers - Warrior Ethos. Most of you are aware that these polishes are no longer being made, which makes me very sad. I got lucky enough to grab this one off the Nerd Lacquer Etsy site just before it closed down. I had so many more on my wishlist, and I hold out hope that one day they return. Here is the beautiful Warrior Ethos.

This polish is GORGEOUS to say the least. This is 3 coats alone.

I love the dense black micro and hex glitter that is mixed in this.

I filed all my nails down again this evening. I really do like to keep them short as possible. I can only nubinize in stages though because the skin that grows under the nail on the free edge needs to recede for me in stages. I hope that makes sense lol.

The bottle is so pretty I had to include it in this shot.

What do you guys think? I appreciate everyone stopping by to visit today.

Sticks and Stones take 2 with Matte added

Today I added a Matte coat to my Mani from yesterday.  I have not been able to leave a Mani alone and not mess with beauty lol. It's very difficult not to add a glitter top coat, matte, etc to a plain base color.

How much does Cover Bands Sticks 'n Stones rock. This stuff blows my mind and I want to put it on everything lol!

Indie Spotlight: Pure Ice and Sticks and Stones

Lately I have been on a serious Indie Polish kick. I just can not help myself, they are all so beautiful lol. My money has been going to Etsy instead of the big companies :)

Today I have an awesome combination. The base polish is Pure Ice Free Fall. Let me say this polish is gorgeousness! It's a pink shimmer, and has flashes of purple in it. In some lights it almost looks like I have a gradient on my nails. I love it!

I topped it with Cover Band's Sticks and Stones. I was lucky enough to snatch one up on Ninja Polish. This polish totally rocks! The application on this was so easy. The formula is not thick at all and it really just glides onto the nail. The glitters are easy to randomly brush on. I do own Lynderella's Connect the Dots, but I like Sticks and Stones much better.

I love this Barbie Doll Look :)

If you look really close you can see the 'purple' flash in Free Fall.

With 2 coats of Seche Vite this glitter sits down perfectly. There was a time when I despised bar glitter and hated it with a passion, and now I LOVE IT and can't get enough if it.

What do you guys think? Thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend!

EDIT/UPDATE: I ended up using a Matte top coat on this. See it HERE.

Indie Spotlight: Fourth of July Candy Lacquer's Stars and Bars #2

For those that celebrate it. I hope everyone has a happy and very safe 4th of July.

Today I wanted to do something a little more wild for the 4th lol. I choose Indie Polish maker Candy Lacquer. This is my second polish by her and I'm in love! Random happiness is what I call it :) I am really impressed with Candy Lacquer so far, and I will be purchasing more from her. I like that my money can go to someone where it really makes a difference, versus into the hands of a big company. I'm glad I choose to go indie for the 4th!

Now I know a lot of you are running for the hills when you hear bar glitter, but I love it. I never have issues working with it, so it's pure enjoyment for me. How do you guys feel about bar glitter? Leave your comments below, I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on bar glitter.

I did have to place the stars in this, but that's all part of the fun. You can be creative and make it look the way you want. Nothing better than a polish you can customize the look of, so versatile.

The base color in this is Essie: A-List, I just felt it was the perfect red I was looking for. Then I added one coat of Candy Lacquer's Stars and Bars #2. I finished it off with one coat of SV and one coat of Barielle Manicure Extender. There is a previous version of this polish called Stars and Bars, so keep that in mind and  be aware if purchasing it  -  it is a different polish. The first version has opposite color stars and bars.

I will be wearing this for the entire day of the 4th. A perfect Mani for viewing the fireworks display that I have planned for the evenings celebrations.

Now if you missed out on this for the 4th, this would also be a great polish to celebrate the Olympics. No better way then to support Team USA with the red white and blue - stars and stripes.

Thank you for visiting and feel free to leave links of your 4th nails. I would love to see them.
