Q&A

Q: May I use your pictures?
All content on this blog is property of myself, unless otherwise noted, and can not be copied or reproduced in any fashion without my written permission. Removing watermarks from pictures is unethical and unacceptable behavior. I will follow up with all violators.

Q: What got you started in doing your own nails.
When I lived in New York I only frequented nail salons to have my nails done. When I moved from New York to Missouri, I wasn't sure what nail salon to use. I decided to give it a try myself until I found a new nail salon home. I did some searching online and ran into a few nail blogs, which led me to the makeupalley.com nail board, which led here. The the rest is history!

Q: What type of Camera do you use?
I use a seven year old Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 with macro settings. Nothing fancy or special. I take all my nails photos with this. I also use a Canon D60 to take bottle shots. I have not purchased the correct lens to use the D60 for nail pictures as of yet.

Q: What type of lighting do you use?
I use a light box with an OTT light.

Q: How do you get your nails so shiny?
I use Seche Vite.  I usually do a medium thick coat, and wait a bit and add a second thicker coat. I use Seche Vite Restore Thinner to keep the Seche Vite from causing any problems. I also sometimes use Seche Vite UV with a UV curing light for faster drying time.

Q: What base coat do you use?
I usually stick to Essie Sensitivity Base Coat and Poshe Treatment Base Coat, but I do experiment a lot on other base coats.

Q: How do you keep your cuticle so healthy looking.
I use Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream and Barielle Intense Nail Oil. I also use CND cuticle remover and use a cuticle pusher to 'push back' cuticles. I never cut my cuticles.
