I know it's been a while since I last added to my Freeman Face Mask Series. Today I will be reviewing the Clay Acai Mask. I ended up staying late at a family birthday party last Saturday night (an hour and half drive from home) and decided to spend the night in a hotel. This way I could shop the area stores in the morning and than head home after a good rest. I had a second family birthday party this Friday and another family picnic this Sunday, it has been CRAZY to say the least lol.
Once I reached the hotel for the evening I was feeling extremely yuck and warn out. When this happens to me I love to do a face mask or face scrub, it is the best pick me up ever. I turned to this mask that I had on hand.
This mask is created from the Acai Berry. For those of you that are not familiar with the Acai berry, it is a berry that is found in the rainforests of Brazil. It provides the skin with amazing benefits such as high levels of antioxidants that fight off free radicals that cause premature aging. I believe it is also contains Silicone, which helps to improve collagen productions. Improved collagen productions leads to strength and elasticity of the skin. Anything that helps me not look like a wrinkled prune as I get older, gets a thumbs up in my book lol.
This is your typical hardening clay face mask as far as consistency and texture are concerned.
(akkk - hotel bathroom lighting is just the worst)
This was fabulous. One of the things I liked most about this mask was although it is a hardening mask, it did not get rock hard and have that 'pulling' effect on the skin that most of these hardening type masks produce. My skin gets irritated when masks tighten too much and actually tug at your skin as they dry. This was not the case with this mask at all. It had a more subtle softer effect while drying.
I also loved the smell which was very sweet and pleasant. I am very picky about heavy scents on my face, and this one was very subtle and pleasant.
Once I rinsed the mask off, my skin felt very soft. I wasn't overly dry like most clay masks feel on my skin after I remove them. I did have to add a moisturizer, but that should be a given after a mask. I used my regular amount and did not have to slather on extra. The following morning after waking, my skin still felt dewy and soft. I caught myself touching my face throughout the day just to feel it again. I loved this mask a lot and it will without question be added to my keep and repeat use list. I highly recommend this one.
Thank you for visiting, and I will have another mask series post up again soon.
